In case you didn't know, Beat Saber gets new DLC song packs fairly regularly these days. The latest is Rock Mixtape, which includes a selection of tracks from recognisable rock bands, and it's available now for $10.99/£8.99.
As you can tell from the video above, Nirvana's iconic Smells Like Teen Spirit is part of the pack. It's joined by other popular classics including:
- Steppenwolf - Born To Be Wild
- Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
- Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird
- KISS - I Was Made For Lovin' You
- The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
- Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
- Foo Fighters - The Pretender
That's a pretty good selection of crowd-pleasers, isn't it? We particularly love the inclusion of Free Bird, which is sort of known in video game terms as a "final boss" song thanks to Guitar Hero II. Will you be rocking out with Beat Saber's latest DLC? Sweet! nice songlist.
Do we know if Beat Saber is coming to PSVR2 yet?
More importantly if we can just carry over all of the paid DLC packs!?!
That would be painful if not.
Especially when the likes of Pistol Whip are simply offering a free upgrade.
Wake me up should it get announced for PSVR2.
Of course…meta 🙄
Would love if you could mod songs on console as I want at least one Muse song in game.
Bring on the psvr2 announcement please!!!
Ye, I need this on the PSVR2
A music game getting old GNR is a really big deal, that hasn't happened since 2007 when GH3 got Welcome to the Jungle.
@Muse2007 me too, the mods are a game changer on the quest
Ah sweet thats a great selection of tracks, might have to dust off the psvr for this one 😁
Now this looks like a good one some great songs & I'm not even really into rock music
I'm with the 'get it on PSVR2' crowd!!
I thought Meta/Facebook bought the company that made Beat Saber. So when Sony threw out the idea of backwards compatibility then they kinda lost a back door to this. I could be wrong since everyone thinks that Valve will bring over Half Life Alyx but tbh I don’t think Meta is gon be as friendly to the competition as Valve would be.
@funkyflounder83 beat saber sells tons of music packs, a large proportion (myself included) buys every single one, there's a good chance meta will want it on any popular vr I think.
Also it's unclear how concerned meta are about hardware sales, they seem to be more interested in the vr 'space' or how to put it.
@Balosi I see your point but if that is the case then why buy the studio at all. It is just like any other studio acquisition which means they’re more intent to keep it off other platforms rather than what little money it brings them in. Even if ppl buy music packs which is something I also do. I doubt very much that any DLC they release affects Meta’s(Facebooks) bottom line.
