Bungie has revealed its next season of Destiny 2 content, titled Season of the Seraph, begins today on PS5, PS4 and will stick around until 28th February 2023. It includes all the usual stuff you'd expect out of a Destiny 2 season: a brand new activity, more Exotic weapons, and another season pass to work through. The story will also be given a nudge forward through various new missions in the lead-up to next year's Lightfall. Check out the trailer above.
The Bungie blog reveals even more: "The Hive God of War moves to seize control of Rasputin’s network of weaponized satellites. In her hands, she would turn its devastating power on the Last City. To stop her, the Vanguard has authorized special covert operations armed with the Warmind’s most advanced weaponry. Agents conducting these operations are known as Seraphs."
Grand Overture, an Exotic Machine Gun, is the weapon you'll get out of the paid Season Pass, with the new matchmade activity being Heist Battlegrounds. There'll also be special missions to look forward to throughout the season. Will you be jumping into more Destiny 2 content today? Let us know in the comments below.

I really want to jump back in, as a Destiny player since day 1 of Destiny 1, I finally let go after season of the Drifter in Destiny 2 as it just got too grindy running daily and weekly's & I didn't like the Gambit mode. I then jumped back in for The Witch Queen (I think) and I was so far out of my depth it has put me off
@Mostik Yeah, there's really no good jumping-on point for Destiny, and the new (or very lapsed) player on-boarding is pretty terrible. You kind of just have to either watch/read a recap of what's been going on throughout whatever you may have missed, or just jump into the deep end and make peace with not really knowing what's going on with the larger narrative. My best suggestion, either just hop in and don't worry about it, or find a group/player who can get you up to speed.
@Mostik The grind is still really bad. I jumped back in at WQ. I've found I have the most fun if I don't worry about finishing everything and just hop in with my clan for the activities I enjoy doing and ignoring what I don't.
I really wish the pinnacle grind would change. I only enjoy high difficulty content and it sucks having to grind low level stuff again just to replay the same endgame stuff I was able to do a week ago.
@Liam Grand Overture was the season pass exotic from an earlier season. I can see there's an error on the Bungie website as they're showing the rewards from an older season from this year but the new season pass exotic is actually the SMG they show in the link. You may need to update the article accordingly.
I have been a regular D2 player since Beyond Light and I've felt quite burnt out on the existing seasonal model like many players. After taking a break last season and not playing as much, I feel more refreshed for this upcoming season, but who knows how long that'll last!
Season of Plunder (the one live until yesterday) saw me drop off really hard for the first time in D2 - but I'll still jump in and give this a go. I'm lucky enough to be in a great clan so they'll get me back up to speed!
I spend my time playing by myself. Every time I join a clan there is no one in it that plays on a regular basis so I just leave it.

Exactly! Tired of the grind. I played from the D1 Alpha through to about 6 months ago. Tried jumping in with WQ and was eternally behind on the grind. Said goodbye 5 and a half weeks into Season of Plunder.
@Stragen8
That's how I feel about Destiny, I hate that the grind is the same as last week and it got boring for me. I need story content not rehashing the same level for loot.
@GeneJacket @Stragen8 completely agree, my old clan doesn't play much if at all these days or else I think I could stick it out. Such a shame as for me it is still probably the best shooter out there but locking legacy content away and the slow grind to level up again is too off putting with so many other games vying for my time!
