Oooof that's a price tag. At least it comes with the game! Everytime I see something like this I can't help but think of how many people who bought this complains about the price of something like PSVR2.
This seems wildly overpriced for what you actually get but then I spent £25 in Tesco yesterday on a meal deal and a few bits so
Think it’s the standard version for me lol
@jrt87 No joke.
I have no intention of buying any collectors editions anymore. Last I bought was the Uncharted 4 Libertalia Edition back when you could buy a great CE for a mere $120.
Proof that despite the recession some people just live in a different world. And to think I feel guilty when dropping a twenty on beer.
When it comes to Final Fantasy I always get physical, but that CE price is too much, will the base game still be £70?
Also surprised they haven't included any nfts in the Collectors edition
for bits of plastic.
may aswell burn your money
No way... 200$ maybe but not more.
Was tempted by horizon and gow but the stingy side of me couldn't without the discs being included. Like that the discs are included but too much for a final fantasy that could be good or bad.
Whew thank goodness I'm not as tempted to get these as when I was younger. I'd be flat broke at this point if I was still buying these crazy collectors editions!
I settled for the deluxe edition cause I still need that amazing looking steelbook and thankfully best buy softens the blow a bit with a 2nd steelbook that's different from the one se's giving
Extortionately overpriced tat.
Yeah this is incredibly overpriced. ...and I still bought it. I couldn't resist
Standard edition for me. My days of collecting overpriced tat in a big box box that gets stored away in another big box is over. Atleast this collectors edition actually comes with a physical copy of the game unlike Sony's offerings (Horizon and Ragnarok)
Ooof. What a ridiculous amount of money for something that will only be looked at a few times and ultimately just takes up space.
@jrt87 I guess people don't buy everything a few statues won't be that much space.
@Kidfunkadelic83 Thats why I skip the Firstparty Sony CE now.
@Uncharted2007 With the bloody game... ☹️
I guess these days they cater to the rich people. Forgetting about us poor folks:(
No thanks! Even the standard edition is too much at £65
@Flaming_Kaiser Agreed. When the heck did it become acceptable to charge $100+ for a game's collectors edition and not add the game in?
First I saw like that was Mass Effect Andromeda. Can anyone remember one before that?
@Sam_ATLUS Did you get a seperate item order for the Final Fantasy XVI Pre-Order Steel Book Case? I saw screenshots of people who were with the American store. I didn't get one so thinking they may have run out with the Standard and Digital Editions before the Collector's went on sale
Imagine how you'd feel if you smacked down all that cash and the game turned out to be awful? Plus, I remembered getting the special edition of 7 Remake when it was on special offer, naively thinking the art book would be a PDF or Kindle file and the soundtrack would be a flac or mp3 download. Nope, they were just apps for the Playstation that provided me with seconds of enjoyment.
@CutchuSlow to be fair, the main game will be heavily discounted on the PS store within about 3 months and willbe running much better by then anyway. Those who want to pay top whack to playtest a game get the fleecing they deserve.
Well… I had originally planned on getting one but set my personal limit at $299, but wow $350 PLUS shipping? Get outta here SE….
@Samitsu Yeah the steelbook comes separate from the collector's edition
@Sam_ATLUS Oh well that's annoying if they were available, I ordered as soon as it went live. Congrats on yours though!
@Jayslow the people who buys this are not the same who complaint about the price of any kind of hardware.
Probably mostly aimed at people hoping that it'll go up in value even further in the future. Which, it has a good chance of doing. The collectors edition market is an odd one.
It really won't, cause i am not getting it. XD
But, i will be buying it at launch, which is already more than i like to do.
I was willing to spend £240 on this. Even though I thought that was too expensive in itself. I think I lost my breath when I saw how much it ended up being. Considering it's not even coming with much. Suppose it's no surprise as the square enix store models are an excess of £150 alone. Still doesn't justify the price point.
Unfortunately, I'm not surprised either considering how money hungry Square Enix has become.
@Uncharted2007 The sad part everyone was laughing. 😔
Plus my favorite thing about people i dont want to have a disc it takes in to much room but i do want tons of other plastic and cardboard?
What kind of logic is that i will never understand but Sony is the worst they put a steelcase in a discless edition. But as much as i like Sony it made it a lot easier for me to wait until its Black Friday no more FOMO for me. 😂
I'll be just pre-ordering the Standard Edition, tempting as all of those extras are...
