Update: Depending on when you read this, Gran Turismo 7’s free 1.27 update will be rolling out today, 14th December, adding five new vehicles to the game. As now officially confirmed on the PS Blog, they are the Ferrari Vision GT, the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm ’20, the Bugatti Chiron ’16, the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray ’20, and the Toyota Celica GT-FOUR Rally Car (ST205) ’95.
While the update doesn’t include any new tracks or routes, it does feature a fresh set of Scapes based on the scenic backdrops of Norway. All of this content is free, so check it out!
Original Article: It may be almost Christmas, but Gran Turismo 7 is the gift that keeps on giving. The game’s monthly update cadence is now well established, and owners of the PS5 and PS4 simulation racer can look forward to another hearty dollop of free content from 15th December. As teased by series creator Kazunori Yamauchi, the update will include five cars, including the previously announced Ferrari Vision GT. This will initially be free to everyone who completed the in-game Viewer’s Campaign during the Gran Turismo World Finals.
Debate is still raging over the other four vehicles, but GTPlanet.net suspects they are the Toyota Celica ST205, the Bugatti Chiron, the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm, and the C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette. Obviously this is all educated speculation based on the silhouettes, so don’t take it as gospel, but they seem like as good a guesses as any.
Remember, the monthly Gran Turismo 7 updates usually include more than just cars, so don’t be surprised if new Scapes, track layouts, Menus, and more sneak in alongside the aforementioned additions. And as alluded to previously, all of this content will be free for everyone, so you can look forward to a few festive extras, courtesy of Polyphony Digital and crew.

This game was such a disappointment. It feels like playing a cheap bar slot machine.
Polyphony Digital eh? Team players the lot of them!
@Dloki You're right, the lottery is utter trash, nearly guaranteed to get the most worthless item every time.
Patch an offline mode ! ... I actually won a car on the roulette wheel the other day couldn't believe it
Just the existence of the roulette wheel though. It's supposed to be a racing simulation. I mean come on. Have we fallen so far as to not even recognize our own exploitation. This is a full price game slipping in a progression system and a lootbox system like some garbage free to play or mobile title
Even the main single-player campaign is designed to feel like a slot machine. It's just insulting.
Used to love this series, but was bored of this one within a few weeks...dull, dull, dull.
Was never interested in this series, but was hooked on this one within a few hours... fun, fun, fun.
@Would_you_kindly theyll never do offline because of people cheating and hacking the game unfortunetly
@Shepherd_Tallon mate go back and play the older ones if u think 7s good its a 1/10 compared to rest of the series haha
@PlayStationGamer3919 they never will dude
I don't know why they called it GT 7. It's more like GT Sport 2. The offline campaign is lackluster and many of the old circuits are still missing and am yet to see an update with any of them. For starters where is Apricot Hill, Tokyo R246, Clubman, Special Stage 5&11, Autumn Ring or Grand Valley?
Still I love playing GT4. That is still one of the best racing games ever made. I have just started revisiting it.
It doesn't matter what the article is about people just want to complain about something even if it has nothing to do with what's being reported. It's like GT7 hurt them in some way.
@KundaliniRising333 What a gross misrepresentation of this game. Nothing beyond race earnings is necessary to progress in GT7. If watching bonus cars spin around after cashing in a daily workout ticket sullies the entire experience for you, maybe the problem lies outside of the game.
@KundaliniRising333 I think we have all recognised it but these media outlets aren’t holding them accountable.
I stopped playing after buying a Fanatec GT DD Pro & realising the FFB is crap & there’s been no appetite to fix it (among the rigged lottery & terrible economy system).
Switched to AMS2 (on PC) & haven’t looked back.
Loving gt7 with my setup (dd pro 8nm with v3 brakes and playseat trophy). I get that roulette stuff is rigged and crap but it really is easily ignored since that’s not why i play GT7. I play for the handling model (not the most realistic but it creates a lot of great online racing when you dont get idiots trying to ram you off).
Nearly 600 hrs in and looking forward to this update.
If you open the roulette ticket and pin your hopes on a new car or a million credits, then it's no wonder you're disappointed. See it as a daily 'reward' of 5k or a camshaft for a car you don't own and anything above that is a bonus.
Absolutely loved my time with GT7. I'll still jump back in when new tracks are added, but what I'm really waiting for is a PSVR2 mode. Their silence is killing me. Haha.
Yes, keep the updates coming. I don’t know where all the hate is coming from. Sure the roulette system sucks. But the economy is fine. You’ll earn more than enough credits by completing the menu’s, circuit experiences and time trial events. And since they added the option to sell your cars, money is even less of a problem. Unless you want to buy every single car in the game. I have never felt the urge to ‘top up my wallet’. I played every GT since the PS1 days and GT7 is easily the best.
I wished they’d do more championships, maybe one per group/manufacturer. I think GT3 is still the best (played it a couple of years ago), but the PlayStation wrap-up just told me I’d put 430 hours into this one… offline (I want every car!)
@Gamer_Guy I don't understand your criticism. This is the closest GT game to the originals that I have played. It reignited the excitement I had in the series. I felt like it got away from its roots in GT Sport and GT6 and then GT7 took a step in the right direction. While it is not perfect, it is something the team can build upon.
sold my copy this week.
will pick it back up when it adds things id like in there
@Gloamin @bighal there's around 10 of us from this website who race on Sunday nights from 8pm if you'd like to join sometime
@Dloki that’s awesome! It’s come a long way since then too.
Would definitely be a great addition to the PS5.
I still have hopes for GT7 (especially once the PSVR2 comes out) but will probably give it a few more months before I hop in again.
This months car selection (aside from the VGTs that no one really wants) looks great
Give us tracks! I dont care about more and more cars.
@MatthewJP if I’m on at that time I sure will. I have yet to join private lobbies so how do I find you?
@bighal feel free to add on PSN: mpquikster
We can then add you to our group. We usually race all sorts of tracks and categories Sundays 8pm-11.30ish so just drop in whenever. With your setup you'll no doubt be way better than most of us.
On the game if you then head to multiplayer and search for rooms with just friends you'll join the lobby.
@MatthewJP great. And don’t be fooled by my setup. My skills don’t do it justice. I’m only B DR rating (S for SR). My PSN ID is similar to my name on this forum (so you know when you get friend request)
@bighal your privacy settings on PSN won't allow me to add you to the gt7 group or send a message.
I think if you change the setting below to 'friends' it'll be OK then.
'Who can interact with you through parties, games, and messages'
@MatthewJP got it. Will do it tonight. I was on last night trying to get the fortnightly gold time trial. It’s pretty difficult as some of the top players have set a ridiculous time. I’m 4/10ths off but I may have to admit defeat and settle for silver.
