If Evil West and NFS Unbound are the right price here in the US I may need to break down and get both immediately.
If Sonic Frontiers goes on sale again in the US I’ll grab that. I missed the 3 times it’s been on sale in the last 2 weeks.
Any opinions on what a good price for Sonic would be? Not really a Sonic fan but the hype has me intrigued.
valkyrie elysium maybe.
will have to browse and see if any bargain to be had,.
will wait for physical sales tho, as a chunk of the ones mentioned i have seen cheaper physical in past sales
Can anyone confirm if synth riders vr and pistol whip vr will be getting a free psvr2 upgrade? They are currently on offer so would pick them up now if this was the case
Nothing for me. Elden Ring is tempting but seeing as I have never got along with Demon Souls (PS3 or PS5 versions), Dark Souls 1 or Bloodborne, I really should just avoid it.
Come on Division 2 dlc, show yourself!
@JP80 Pistol Whip will be a free upgrade. Not sure anything's been announced for Synth Riders yet.
I just brought NFS unbound and Evil West 😭, saints row at that price you'll still be getting robbed
Imagine paying almost 53 pounds for The Last of Us Part 1 and that's the sale price?
Holy smokes
@ErrantRob Gee, thanks for the super useful info.
I might get NFS, Gotham Knights and GT7. Not sure if Evil West is worth it now. But it is on my list as well for a later date.
If this is representative of the sale, then my wallet has nothing to worry about.
Valkyrie Elysium has my interest. I really enjoyed the demo.
Leap of Fate is a pretty good game; I was surprised how much I like it. Grab it while it’s still on sale…if you want to, that is.
I have to say I’m a little disappointed. The January sale’s normally the big one but nothing much is jumping out at me. Then again, my backlog is bloody massive so perhaps it’s a blessing.
I've been waiting for Tales of Arise to drop that that point. After playing the demo, I told myself that when it became a $20 game, I'd go for it. Of course, watch is then go on PS+ in a few months.
@Dudditz09 Not true I dident care for none of those games. But it was amazing and well worth it
No big discounts, and the absurd £70 price being on discount just makes Sony's first party games cost the same as the other ones. It actually became better again to buy physical copies because they're always less than Sony's ridiculous price. What a weak January sale.
@nessisonett Same feeling, I have 72 games on my ‘Want To Play’ list (backlog is such a negative word!) and I’ve only completed 14 games this year. Hyped for the 2027 sale on that basis.
Got pistol whip for the free PSVR2 upgrade as soon as Sony sent me the announcement it was on sale. Under £14. Bargain.
Edit: Resi Village for £17.49. And I thought I did well getting it physical for £25
Not impressed you can find these cheaper on amazon.
@Pat_trick it's so bad
Thanks! Got Resi Village because of the free PSVR 2 Upgrade next year.
In all honesty, you can already find these cheaper elsewhere on disk, hopefully they are really cheap on the Turkish store, that's the only way I'll buy anything digital
Wake me up when Trails of Cold Steel 3 and 4 are on sale.
@Dudditz09 I agree with the others that responded. I quickly rage quitted Bloodborne and Demon’s Souls (a few months ago). A few days ago I decided to start with Elden Ring anyway and at the very first session I was hooked. I think I’m about 10 hours in now and I’m loving every second of it. You’re way more in control because you can literally pick your own battles and the map is so incredibly rich to explore. I never thought I would ever beat a FromSoftware boss, but I got one down in my third session without it ever feeling too easy.
There is a loooooot of chuff in that sale. A lot of chuff indeed.
Ascent for 20 quid is worth a punt. Resi village for 18ish and last of us 2 for 8 quid odd is a bargain if you havent got round to it.
@JP8 pistol whip is getting free upgrade but synth riders hasn't even announced a next gen version yet but it'll probably be coming
@GreatAuk You can buy for 42.99 at anytime if you chose physical copy. That's a fair price I think
Sekiro still £30 for a million years because dictatorship PS Store totally drops the standard and makes Deluxe or Game of the Year edition standard like others.
@Darude84 It's all about FREEDOM in Elden Ring. I don't understand how some fans were expecting a linear structure like previous games when it's clearly a different game with a different name - Elden Ring not Dark Souls 4 or Bloodborne 2. As for me, I was totally hooked on BB so I knew what I was in for with ER.
@EquiinoxGII you are correct - they're extremely cheap on the Turkey store!
@TheArt in fairness, every other From Soft souls like game had a similar structure before Elden Ring - Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro.. They're all very different games with very different gameplay, but they all have pretty linear levels (branching, but linear branches) with bosses that prevent you from going past certain points without beating them
Elden Ring isn't just "a different name", it's a completely different way of designing a game, when it comes to From Soft. And to be fair they always said it was going to be an open world game, I just don't blame people for assuming they're not going to like it because they "don't like from soft games"
@TheArt Sorry, you've lost me. You say you can't understand how some fans were expecting linear when ER is clearly a different game to BB. Then you go onto say you were hooked on BB so knew what you were in for with ER? WTF?
@nessisonett Agreed. Similar to last year, pretty disappointing. It's been quite a few years since the January sale was so good if i'm honest.
There are several I price track on PSDeals and got notifications for this morning, just to see a max. 50% price drop, same as any other sale really. Nothing special.
The only 3 i'm thinking about are:
Just Cult Of The Lamb for me...even with the backlog, £9 via Turkey store is cheap enough.
@FatalBubbles I'd say 25-30 is the right price. It's decent if not a bit repetative and took me 20 hours to platinum
Monster sale!
One Piece world seeker deluxe edition is 90% off. Looked up some reviews & I can see why. Dodged a bullet there.
Picked up fell seal arbiter's mark as Colin been raving about for ages now & it’s only £5 with +
are they the pre sale prices?
Some absolutely horrific "sale" prices in this tbh
But I can absolutely recommend Oxenfree and Nobody Saves The World which will cos you less than £14 for both. And Sonic Orgins is a very decent price as well.
Not Push Square finally improving their formatting and not listing the deals in a paragraph. It's a Christmas miracle, thank you!
Is Tales of Arise worth buying? I'm still unsure about it even after trying the demo
Think I will stick with whatever extra can offer me for my very limited time. Can't see me buying anything else while subbed and I'm on that until 2025.
@Sam_ATLUS I needed a few hours and was hooked from then on. Especially the combat is a lot of fun. Solid 8/10 (coming from a Final Fantasy fan).
Treated myself to some goodies
Aliens Fireteam: Into The Hive Edition
Resident Evil 3
Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY Edition
Godfall Ultimate Edition
Back 4 Blood Annual Pass (ordered the game for £9 off Amazon)
Bulletstorm Full Clip Edition
@Sam_ATLUS I was pleasantly surprised with the game and would put it on the 8-8.5 range. I’m a big fan of RPG and JRPG for what it’s worth.
@ActionPanther Thanks for the feedback, $42 isn’t going to do it then.
@danlk1ng uumm well yeah that's what I'm saying. Elden Ring is different so why were people expecting the SAME.
@Eldritch I meant in terms of difficulty.
@Sam_ATLUS Same. Still not sure after the demo but we'll see.
It wouldn’t take much for me to go all digital, all Sony would have to do is have prices equivalent to physical discs….
@FatalBubbles use Turkey store to buy them (they still play on your UK account) and they do better than that - they make physical prices look expensive:
Cult of the Lamb £9
Elden Ring £19
Horizon FW £22
and so on...
people can take their physical discs and shove them with prices like this 😀👍
@Gamer_Guy I’m in the US, work the same way?
The way Sony don’t add the discounted price to a game that has a trial available is really confusing. If I’m logged out you see it’s lower price but if you’re logged in you have no idea. It seems such a backwards way to do things. Why do I want to try the trial when I’ve already made my decision to buy?
I just picked up Shredder's Revenge and Goat Simulator 3. My daughter loved the first Goat Simulator game and I'm so excited to experience the turtles with her.
Kena Bridge of Spirits is $17.99 PS4/5 w/ PS+ so may finally bite on that.
I just bought Sonic Frontiers (and Mario v Rabbids 2 not that you lot care) for $40 each physical and HFW for $30 digital on PS4, then immediately downloaded the PS5 version, so nothing else here for me, Elden Ring was day 1 for my kids birthday.
Oh yesterday I bought Tales of Arise physical on Amazon for PS4 for $20 should get to play that sometime next year on PS5. So I’m good.
@TheArt my point is you said it's a game with "a different name" - I'm just saying that the other 4 series mentioned have different names and are all completely different in their own ways too (the possible exception being Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, which are arguably more alike than any of the others), but they all have a common thread in that they're difficult to progress through if you're having trouble with the bosses. My point is I don't really blame anyone for being apprehensive because it's a FromSoft game, but I agree that it's by far their most accessible game to date
For a game as massive, polished, and intricate as Elden Ring, buying on any discount would feel like highway robbery to me. I'm maybe 60 hours in and I'm guessing I've only beaten half the game or so (I just finished Volcano Manor).
@Sam_ATLUS For me Arise it did everything well and nothing brilliantly. Combat is pretty fun, world is pretty beautiful, story is pretty straightforward but with something to work with.
I'd say it's easy to have fun with, but also not worth prioritising if you've got something interesting in your backlog.
There's some great indie games on sale currently.
I'm getting Nobody Saves The World, The Messenger, Inscryption and Norco. £40 for four games
@themightyant If you don't buy Tales of Arise already, I'm going to audio-bomb your public private bluetooth conversations with audio dialogue from High on Life.
@nessisonett Yeah, sales seem to be a lot stingier these days. 20-30% off tops for most things. Maybe just because not much released this year, and most of what did has been in the past 6 months, so too soon for big discounts. Hopefully that's all it is. I just treat the first 20-30% sale as the launch, and refuse to pay more than $45 for anything these days. I was in at $50, somewhat occasionally in at $60, but since $70, never at launch again unless it's an exceptionally rare game of high importance to me. To me "$41.99" is full price, higher is pre-release early access, and lower is a real sale as of this gen. GoW:R Launches next holiday to me. Maybe E3 time.
Not much of a sale for cod when it should've been that at launch 🤣
Think I will get Resident evil Village just for the psvr 2 version
For that fun... I just picked Anthem for 97% discount 🤣🤣🤣
btw if you like hack'n'slash games (Diablo, Torchlight, Path of Exile...) steampunk and easter eggs, there is The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 1,2,3 for almost nothing (each about £1.50)
Hard pass on most of these sales, trying to work my way out of credit card debt.
Plan on buying Resident Evil Raccoon City Edition with both RE2 and 3, Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx, The Smurfs: Mission Vileaf and XIII, may pick something else up along the way if it catches my attention. I bought The Last of Us Part I and Uncharted on physical for the same price.
Evil west should be a fiver at most! Awful game! Why are people comparing this to the order? I really enjoy the order but evil west is just so boring! Go from arena to arena fighting the same enemies. Gets old quick
@ThomasHL @FatalBubbles @Darude84 I ended up picking up the Ultimate Edition of Arise on sale and have played 10 hours. I heard people say the game has a drop in the second half but so far it's been really fun.
@Sam_ATLUS Glad you’re enjoying it. I don’t remember thinking it dropped off in the second half. I thought that it came together story wise in that half.
