10 more PS4 games will leave PS Plus Extra next month, as revealed by the PS5 system's Last Chance to Play section. First spotted by True Trophies, the following 10 PS4 titles will depart on 17th January 2023:
- Bound by Flame
- Electronic Super Joy
- Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek
- Leo's Fortune
- Masters of Anima
- Seasons After Fall
- Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom
- Space Hulk: Tactics
- The Council
- The Last Tinker: City of Colors

There have been a few high-profile departures from PS Plus Extra in recent months, including Assassin's Creed Valhalla and a backend mixup that saw Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana temporarily taken off the service. While the latest list of PS4 games being removed from PS Plus Extra doesn't contain any big hitters, it's worth fast-tracking any of these titles to the front of your backlog if you were thinking of playing them through your membership.

Jeez, how will we live without these titles? These all look like titles that go on sale for $1.99
I’ve been meaning to play Shiness for around 3 years, since I got Now. Strange it’s leaving.
I recommend Seasons After Fall, it's a chill puzzle platformer with very nice art style. Not too long either.
Oh no, I've been wanting to play The Council, looks like I'll have to get on it before it goes.
@thefourfoldroot1 You wont miss a lot - its too clanky even for me
Phew, almost something I cared about alphabetically. Makes searching through the game catalog easier I guess.
Started the council today and seemed okay. I can't be bothered to rush through it but might buy it as it's regularly in the sale for cheap.
Sony needs to provide more notice fed up with this happening.
Just popping in to recommend Leo's Fortune, a terrific platformer with a very odd protagonist and wonderful/ridiculous story. You can complete it in a couple hours. Don't miss it if you're a fan of 2D platformers!
Fortunately not fussed about these too much. Some of them are okay, as mentioned above, so check them out while you still can!
Been meaning to play the council after I really enjoyed the free episode. Better get a move on.
Lol none of these will ever be installed on my PS5. As long as Metro Exodus and the two Arkham remasters ain't going anywhere anytime soon I'm all good for now. Grabbed both Metro Exodus story expansions for barely a few quid after installing Metro Exodus from Extra
Any quick and easy trophies for me to knock out from this list before they go?
A lot of fodder is leaving so now I can wait for something interesting in the new fodder wave.
@NateGoesLive the council, I don't have it because game isn't my style but I know it's an easy one.
Bound by Flame got me through the RPG drought the PS4 had at launch.
Always sad to see games disappear. But as these things go that's an absolute WIN. A few good games, but all far enough down my pecking order the reality is I would never get to them.
The Council is good, but flawed, as they were clearly running out of budget/time near the end.
Bound by Flame it's a pretty cool, clunky experience.
I knocked out ass creed Valhalla and even got the plat before it was removed. Missed pillars of eternity though. From this list I've played the council(decent experience). I'll at least try these out, will probably be able to get through most of them if I stick with them. Heck after Valhalla no game will feel too long ever again.
Anyone able to offer any genuine rationale over why games are taken off? I kinda get Valhalla as it's still a fairly new release but these titles surely see more revenue from a share of the PS+ sub $$ than raw sales?
I played and beat Electronic Super Joy on pc years before, it was something else Good music and humor, sometimes hard platforming
These are some forgettable looking games lol.
@thefourfoldroot1
You've been wanting to play that game for 3 years? And now it's strange it leaves plus? serious?
I was worried Stray was being removed
@Milktastrophe I really enjoyed The Council, and if memory serves, it doesn’t take too long to complete. It really owns it’s weirdness, and turns what could have become a silly history mash up into an excellent adventure game. Hope you get a chance to play through it.
So glad you guys do these reminders for these, so they can jump to the front of my to do list. I want to get The Council and Seasons After Fall done before they leave.
Not interested in any of them so i wouldnt care less. I played the last tinkerer 2 years ago and as a fan of 3d platformers i was quite dissapointed with it. dull and way to colorful. boring
dont know any of the rest from memory so they might as well go away. I already have my playlist installed and its a well known lineup like yakuza farcry or dragon quest.
@Milktastrophe I was a little disappointed with The Council, but still think it’s worth experiencing if you’re a fan of the genre. Like other have said, it has some great ideas and I really enjoy alternate history fiction, but there a budget feel to the game and some unintended cheese to it. It’s not very long, but does drag at some parts. I hope the studio takes their ideas and experiences and really nails their next project.
@icecube There was that article recently where one of the Sony executives (was it Shuhei Yoshida?) said they want PS+ to be a curated catalog of high quality games. Seeing this list does make me wonder if these are games that simply don’t make the cut.
Edit: Googled it and it was Yoshida, saying they want Extra to be a “Best of” group of games.
Luckily there is none I want immediately to play. When I saw the headline my heart frozen for some seconds.
@Th3solution hmm, now that's a rationale a like. And if that genuinely is the reason then I respect the decision. Now we just need to bring back Valhalla!
@icecube
if u mean AC valhalla then yes. wanted to play it at some point...
@freddquadros
maybe my heart didnt froze but i was worried a bit if there was any title that is now on my gaming plate. theres nothing so false alarm
@TommyNL
Lol, yes, it’s strange because it’s been on there forever. Usually if something leaves it’s after 6 months or a year, not randomly after years. Although I guess a all games may have been relicensed when it changed to Extra.
Had a lot of fun with The Last Tinker, 3D platformer with auto-jump, loved that!
Super Electronic Joy is a pretty solid hardcore platformer, so I'd recommend that at least.
I might try out Seasons After Fall since it's a short one with good art - not at all interested in the rest. Thanks for the heads-up.
Haven’t heard of most of these but I did play Seasons After Fall. I didn’t enjoy it much. It was beautiful though. Fantastic art style. Gameplay wasn’t fun to me. But I can 100% see why people like it.
Oh dear. What a pity. Never mind.
@thefourfoldroot1
haha i know your problem. I also often have titles that I would like to play and then even write down. But once I finally have time to play a title I can't find it anywhere. But you still have until January 17 to play the game. If it doesn't work out this month, I still wish you a Merry Christmas!
@icecube id guess its more down to the contract ending and Sony not seeing a renewal value.
Thanks for the heads up! I'll be trying out both Bound by Flame and The Council before they vanish.
can someone tell me why PS Plus is a good deal? more games disappearing than being added. god damn it.
The Council looks horrible but it's actually a very decent adventure game that I liked.
Ugh I was actually going to start Bound by Flame next week. Last month I had just finished Mafia 1 and was ready to move onto Mafia 2. Little extra warning would be nice.
@doowoobieguy I mean this is 10 titles, 22 were added this month. Let’s not go crazy.
Damn plus extra is insane value . I’d say it’s got more value than the day1 releases on Gp
@TommyNL Merry Christmas to you too.
Ridge Racer 2 no having trophies or being available separately is a massive disappointment
I played The Council earlier this year, and I don't regret it exactly, but I wouldn't say you're missing out on anything if you dont play it. I think the skill tree concept works for the genre, but it runs poorly to say the least, and the game itself is just not very good.
I might check out Electronic Super Joy for a minute just for fun before it goes.
Not sure if this is important, a technicality or what, but the 'offer ends' date only appears when you highlight 'Stream' and not 'Download' on Store on PS5. Would this then mean that these games are only leaving streaming on the mentioned date and not to download?
@Milktastrophe Dont. It sucks.
@daveyboyps101 no, they're not only leaving streaming. If you haven't added the game to your library, it also shows the offer ends for the download option. It not showing on download after you've added it to your library is a bad design by Sony. This is what the other games that have the left service have done as well.
@Milktastrophe okay thanks for the reply. I've added them all to my library as I do this habitually - it's weird it doesn't give an end date if I've done this however, like you say probably bad design on Sony's end.
@Voltan thanks for the suggestion! I playing it because of that and enjoying it
