NIS America has today announced its remaster of the PS2 game GrimGrimoire will launch as GrimGrimoire OnceMore on PS5, PS4 in April 2023. The Vanillaware game arrives in the USA on 4th April 2023, and then releases across Europe three days later on 7th April 2023. A new trailer reveals what you can expect from the remastered version, which has a "brand new skill tree, improved user interface, [and an] art gallery" alongside the usual resolution bump.
From the studio behind 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Dragon's Crown, this is a real-time strategy title where you channel magic to summon demons to fight for you. "To summon familiars, players must use magical books called Grimoires to conjure Runes, and as you level up your Grimoires, you’ll be able to summon more powerful familiars. Mastering these schools of magic and utilising their familiars against certain enemies is the key to victory!"
Upgraded from a 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9, GrimGrimoire will look better than ever with enhanced visuals. "The signature, hand-drawn art style is still present, but the details are far more vibrant thanks to the high definition that modern consoles offer."
Will you be playing GrimGrimoire for the first time upon its PS5, PS4 release, or are you returning to an old favourite? Let us know in the comments below.

it's an interesting game, but damn, that is one AWFUL trailer that will not help the sales department!
@Porco I completely disagreed with you until I watched it with the sound on. That is some aggressively chipper voice acting. Still, it’s a Vanillaware game which makes it a day one purchase.
For any other Vanillaware fans out there, Sword of the Vagrant is a recent release that pays homage to their style. It’s more than worth the asking price in my opinion.
Must be included with premium then right
@Amnesiac i had problems with how the trailer was edited as well. they did a poor job showing the gameplay in a clear and engaging way. had i not already been familiar with this game, i wouldn't know what to make of this trailer. vanillaware produces great games and deserve better here. while this is one of their lesser known titles and i would prefer to see muramasa remastered long before grimgrimoire, my hope is they can remain in business and produce more great games in the future.
as for sword of the vagrant, i was shocked to see how closely the art resembles the works of george kamitami. could have fooled me on first impression.
We almost have all the big Vanillaware hits on modern platforms! Muramasa port (based on the vita version which had improved visuals, new content, gameplay improvements etc) when?
