Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin’s post-release content will conclude with DLC expansion Different Future on 27th January, 2023. The teaser trailer – embedded above but inexplicably age restricted by YouTube – includes a glimpse of the spin-off’s first Moogle appearance, as well as a few clips of some new firearms-themed combat.
We’re particularly keen on the key art, with the DLC’s logo specifically inspired by the Japanese box art for Final Fantasy II. You’ll be able to get the expansion as part of the title’s Season Pass, which is available now on the PS Store. Are you looking forward to this final content drop for one of 2022’s weirder releases?

Nearly bought this so many times but just not sure if I'll like it. From what I've seen, it looks like Final Fantasy meets Devil May Cry which is my jam but also heard that the main character is beyond annoying
@ActionPanther The main character is very "I just want to kill chaos" for a big part of it but it's not like he speaks a lot and the story in general was better than I expected. Overall very fun game, even if its looks and performance weren't exactly amazing.
I haven't played any of the DLC but I might get the season pass on sale after this releases.
@ActionPanther also been tempted by this quite a few times
@Voltan Yeah, seek to remember him going on about Chaos a lot in the trailers. The fun factor is definitely what will get me to pick up. Is it not 60fps?
They still have not fixed the stupid design choice that you can only play some of the dlc in the hardest difficult setting...
@ActionPanther It is 60 but not very stable - although I do think they made some improvements to that since I played.
@ActionPanther not sure about performance in ps4, but it’s 60/120 on PS5. Wouldn’t compare the combat to DMC, more like Nioh but easier (there are actually some good difficulty modes in case you’re not into typical Nioh/souls like difficulty). Very fun overall
@KaijuKaiser I did it for the main story but, unless they patched it, it doesn't work for the dlc.
@KaijuKaiser Maybe, to be honest I thought you were talking about the super easy mode. I don't have access to my ps4 at this time but I think it is called casual?
@KaijuKaiser Thanks, I had no idea. Do you know how to access it?
@KaijuKaiser Thanks, I will check it out. It always bugged me that I didn't play the dlc.
@Shstrick Haven't even tried Nioh (although it's on my list too) but definitely down for something that feels a bit different for me. I'm not traditionally a Souls guy but I don't like games super easy either so hopefully there will be a nice difficulty level for me.
I have been tempted as well, but considering the ps3 era visuals, and seeming inability of team Ninja to flesh out even half decent storytelling and writing, I just can't justify it with the meager discounts it's had thus far.
Bad game made by a bad dev almost forgot it existed.
@KaijuKaiser Can you access this "Extra mode" on even the Easier difficulties?
Also is it only unlocked once you've beaten the story, or is it available from the very start of the game?
