The PS Plus Extra lineup refresh for October 2022 wasn't quite as good as it could have been for PS5 owners because of technical setbacks preventing them from accessing three of the games. They were Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India, and Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia. While Syndicate remains unplayable via the service, the 2D treks to India and Russia have now been made available on PS5 via PS Plus Extra.
Twitter account PlayStation Game Size has noticed an update go live for the entire trilogy — which includes Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China, and that is playable on PS5 — with the simple patch note: "Fixed a crash on PS5". Now, if you head to the PS Plus section on PS5, both titles are now downloadable.
While it's likely Assassin's Creed Syndicate would take a lot more work to fix, the fact the two Chronicles titles have been given that treatment will lend fans some hope. Have you been waiting to play these two games on PS5? Get them queued for downloading in the comments below.

I thought Syndicate was playable, but with graphical glitches.
Unity 60/fps, let's go
@Milktastrophe the glitches are severe enough to make it virtually unplayable (technically you can play the game but your eyes will not appreciate it)
Talking about playability... I took a nostalgia trip to AC2 this week but didn't get far before I rage quitted. It's hardly playable anymore, both because of the controls (Ezio getting suicidal on top of buildings) and the fact games have evolved so much that emptying the map was just plain boring.
I'll now try Origins instead. I heard that one plays very nicely on PS5.
Raised my hopes up for Syndicate, cross fingers
Between giving free PS5 patches for Odyssey and Origins and now this, I'm impressed at Ubisoft for the free upgrades. Not just great for being good for gamers, but also for game preservation in the long term.
Now if only it included a platinum…
I was able to download these anyhow. I tried them out but really didn’t like them at all.
Now just need Syndicate tweaked and have it and Unity at 60fps - that’s my Christmas wish!
I briefly thought that I was going to hear they finally but fixed Syndicate but, alas, it was not to be.
While it is good that the Chronicles titles were fixed, I wish they could get Syndicate working on PS5. I literally keep my PS4 Pro around just for this title.
It seems likely Ubisoft has determined it is not worth the effort.
@BeerIsAwesome Yep, I started playing on Vita but the load times did my head in. The PS4 version is much better but on PS Plus, it has the three games separately so there’s no platinum.
While it's not the one we wanted of course I appreciate Ubisoft taking the time and going back to make these games playable again. In all honesty they don't have to do this but it's appreciated all the same.
Here's hoping Syndicate is around the corner.
I never had any issues with them, was only if you downloaded them through PlayStation + that the problems existed
Because of good timing, here is a link to a fantastic video that just came out from the very underrated channel Whitelight about parkour in Assassin's Creed games. Highly recommended.

I think this is a good sign for Syndicate.
@NorrinRadd Unlikely they will fix both games by Christmas, but hopefully sometime in 2023?
As they may have said in Star Wars...
"Not The Upgrade I'm Looking For.
