PowerWash Simulator is an oddity that really resonated with a lot of people last year, so we're pleased it's finally heading to PlayStation. Announced for Sony's platforms towards the end of 2022, no release date was attached, with the job sim left hanging with a "coming soon". However, publisher Square Enix (yep) has now confirmed exactly when we can get our grubby hands on the game.
We'll be able to blast away the dirt with pressurised water on 30th January 2023. That means it's just a few weeks away.
If you're unfamiliar with the game, it's exactly what it says on the tin. It's a first-person simulation title, in which you take on contracts to clean various vehicles, objects, and locations using a power washer. Using the money you earn by clearing each stage, you can unlock better washers and other equipment, which you can then use to tackle even larger jobs.
It sounds like the most mundane thing in the world, but a lot of people have described the game as a very zen, chilled out, and satisfying experience. We're looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about soon. Are you excited to play PowerWash Simulator on PS5 and PS4? Clean up your act in the comments section below.

Had so much fun on GamePass but as soon as PS version was announced I had to stop.
I honestly can’t wait to grind for the platinum.
Blasted my way through the early access version on Steam and got slightly obsessed with it. Can't wait to do it all over again!
No thanks I'll just actually use one to clean something in real life if I get the urge 😂
Tried with a free gamepass month and with the PS version out soon, gonna work towards Platinum
I want this to have a PSVR2 release!
@Jacko11 Why? Solely because you prefer Trophies over Achievements?
Not an insult, I am just curious of the mentality there.
Always curious to see whether these Gamepass timed exclusives actually live up to all the team green praise 🤔
@GamingFan4Lyf
That's how it is for me. Achievements are easier to stop collecting, there is something extra attractive about a Platinum. The PowerWash sim, on the other hand, was one of the few 1000G last year.
@Joabra01Swe Fair enough.
Being someone who couldn't care less about Achievements/Trophies, it seems odd to go to another platform for the same game if you already had access to said game.
Thanks for clearing that up.
I never really understood the appeal of this game or the lawnmower simulator....but people sure seem to love it.
I tried it...it's exactly what it says it is....which is...well, ok, it's not the worst game from the Square-Enix catalogue....
Ironic that the power wash van is the dirtiest of them all 😂
This was an out of the blue steam deck obsession for me briefly. Strangely beautiful
I hope you can’t gouge your new cedar deck because you accidentally use the wrong nozzle and the psi is set for cleaning tungsten. That would suck. I mean, it probably would suck. It definitely hasn’t happened to me…
This looks like a day 1, seems like the perfect game for podcasts and short session when you can't decide what game you wanna play next!
I imagine it’s satisfying like coloring. Gets those little endorphin achievement shots in your brain. However, this one gives me motion sickness.
Let's hope they implement DualSense functionality... haptic triggers would be perfect for this.
I know people have become obsessed with this, but after two scenario's I was bored stupid and never went back. If youve not tried it before, dont assume it will hook you, for some of you it will be every bit as boring as it sounds.
For those who will like it, nice to see it now on PS!
@GamingFan4Lyf honestly yeah.
I’ve been on PS since day 1 from PSOne to PS5. Trophies are something that is now just ingrained in my playing of video games.
I use GamePass as a test bed for games to buy on my PS4/5. Obviously I play Xbox Exclusives (when they actually come out) on GamePass, but if I really like a game i’ll stop and pick it up on PS for trophies.
I know its weird for some but thats just how I play. Steam/Epic etc is similar too, though the games I play from those platforms are of a much different genres/reasoning to play usually compared to what I prefer on console i.e. Cod W@W, GTA IV and XCOM all with mods. Then games like Commandos, Sid Meier and some classic games etc.
But if a game is free through Prime Gaming or dirt cheap through random sale, i’ll possibly try on PC then jump over to PS if I enjoy.
How come it’s so late??? It’s hardly a big game an it’s been on Game Pass for weeks!! It’s ok, prefer House Flipper an Lawnmower Simulator.
The irony of a game like this is it is a simulation of a mundane, repetitive job that people in real life don't even enjoy doing, but they have to do it for a living. And now it's a videogame🤷
