Atomic Heart's got work to do if it wants to stand out in what is a packed release schedule, but at least the game's ready to rock. The intriguing first-person shooter, which has looked potentially fantastic in some of its gameplay trailers, has officially gone gold, meaning that it's ready to ship. The game will blast its way to PS5 and PS4 on the 21st February.
We've got fairly high hopes for Atomic Heart, but again, its marketing machine will really have to kick into gear over the next month or so to get the word out. Some high scoring reviews and positive first impressions certainly wouldn't hurt either.
Are you looking forward to Atomic Heart? Do you think it'll have a shot at standing out in February? Hold fire in the comments section below.

I am so happy that the game is not PS5 exclusive (so I can play it ) because it looks amazing!
I get Bioshock vibes from it!
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika exactly my thoughts. Fingers crossed 🤞
This does look like bioshock and fallouts love child
I hope this comes to 3DS
Might try this out as it will be on Game Pass. But not before Like A Dragon Ishin which releases the same time
They are insane to release this game during the same period as Dead In Space and Hogwarts Legacy. It probably be wiser for them to bank the project, release it later in the year when there is less massive games from established franchises being release. An start working on their next game. Like film studios do.
Curious to see if this lives up to the hype.
PlayStation fans shouldn't buy this game until it leaves gamepass. I think if PlayStation fans do that developers would think twice before releasing their games on gamepass
This game is developed by Russians, the studio has ties to the government (via funding, employees and publisher in RU), exploits Soviet aesthtetics, the main character is a member of RU’s security forces. The release day is also 3 days apart from the 1st anniversary of the full-scale war. The only anti-war message they posted was toothless “we condemn violence”. I hope this is at least considered in the review, so people can make an informed buying decision.
I just don’t get hyped anymore. Less disappointment, more happy surprises.
@KaijuKaiser July and August and September seem pretty barren.
Think this would make a great psvr2 release
I keep seeing this game compared more to Serious Sam than Bioshock. Definitely worried.
On the good side they kept noting Dark Souls as a major influence and you can see some of that rhythm in the combat. Fingers crossed this is as cool as it looks.
Hope it is a great game and being on game pass is a bonus as well.
If Wo Long is great as well that will be 2 big GP games for early 2023. And it does need them for sure.
@Psnfanboy79 What‘s bad about Gamepass? That it’s not from Sony?
@Max_the_German
Yup, that's exactly what it is. A lot of people here who slam GP would love it if it was Sony doing the exact same kind of service.
@Vovander thanks, day one purchase now!
@WCB nice try mate.
@Max_the_German I just can't find myself paying full price for game that's coming on gamepass. I know gamepass isn't free but it almost feel like Xbox users get to play the game for free by using that subscription service
@Psnfanboy79 And Gamepass subscribers pay for the service, and Microsoft pays to the publisher. And you can buy the game for 70 quids in March or for 30 quids in November. Many choices, and I find your call for boycott not appropriate.
Got my copy pre-ordered. Looks good enough to take a chance on I think.
@Vovander I’m sorry just because someone had the misfortune to be born in Russia doesn’t make them bad. It’s easy to sit behind a computer in a country most likely safe to have free speech and not be killed and pat yourself on the back for not buying a video game but yes they were toothless for not speaking out more smh. This ***** didn’t fly on resetera when someone tried to make a thread just like your comment and that’s the most annoying, performative and holier than thou website on the web so it isn’t going to fly here.
N.i.c.e. word up son
@Vovander Come on dude. We get that there’s some funding there (the Russian government has their hands in virtually every cookie jar) but I would be VERY scared to criticize the Russian hierarchy at this juncture.
I’m sure they’re well aware the place is run by complete psychopaths who can and will do anything to silence detractors, especially ones who have an opportunity to spread an anti war message outside of Russia.
This is a call to punish a developer who has the unfortunate circumstance of living under a dictatorship. Try to cut these people some slack. It would be totally different if they came out and supported the war.
@dark_knightmare2 It’s not only because of them being from Russia - I gave the whole package of reasons.
Sad that I'm expecting a technical launch mess these days, which means I postpone my excitement for some indefinite date when patches land. I really hope it's not the case, but seems to every non-first-party graphically exciting release is mess at launch. Hope they can buck the trend.
@Colour I agree with you that maybe they are due some benefit of the doubt. But maybe they should somehow dissociate themselves from the things they supposedly don’t support? They seem to try hard to conceal their Russian origins. In the “About Us” section, Mundfish is described as a studio HQ’ed in Cyprus with professionals from over 10 countries (RU of course is not mentioned). But a largely symbolic gesture of unambiguously condemning the war is somehow above them.
@Vovander a lot of people in Russia are afraid to speak out against the government, and understandably so.
Have the money for it ready, just waiting for the reviews before getting it.
@Vovander Russians are people too. Just enjoy the damn video game. Real world politics don’t have any effect on the quality of the game.
Cautiously optimistic here, going to wait and see what others say before buying but definitely interested!
Fine, fine. I hope events do not unfold in a way that’ll give me an opportunity to revisit this argument.
I'll be waiting for launch day reviews and gameplay, but either way not buying Atomic Heart until it's on sale for $20 New or cheaper in a few years.
@Vovander It's easy for you to say as a non-Russian citizen. If you were Russian then I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have typed that so easily.
But "Gold Gold" or "Cyberpunk Gold"?
I know where's the exit, guys...
