The Dead Space remake on PS5 appears to be a slam dunk, earning high critical praise across the board, and we thought it was pretty great, too. Fans, at least according to our polling, are pretty keen on the whole Necromorph thing, it looks like. So it's awesome to hear that EA's Motive Studio is interested in "exploring Dead Space more", presumably with either a remake of Dead Space 2, or a new nightmare entirely.
Speaking to British GQ, senior and creative directors Phil Ducharme and Roman Campos-Oriola were asked whether they had ideas for the future, to which Ducharme responded "For sure, it’s, it’s a hope that we have. There’s interest on my side and I think on Roman’s side – you can see his smile – in exploring Dead Space more. There are ideas, that’s for sure."
But any potential next project is going to have to wait, at least for a little while. Ducharme notes that "we’re finishing this week, we’re going to be making sure that that launch goes well and that there are as few technical issues as possible. We’re gonna be heading out on vacation and then we’ll sit down and we’ll have those discussions within EA to say, 'Well, what’s next?'"
Are you excited by the prospect of more Dead Space? Would you like to see Dead Space 2 get the remake treatment, or would you like to see a new direction, perhaps one in which Dead Space 3 is no longer canon and we don't have to think about it again? Let us know in the comments section below.

My copy arrives tomorrow so I can finally play the Remake. I'm hyped.
Remake 2 and let then make an all-new third title. They're both great games for different reasons, 1 and 2, but 3 is when to step in with something new.
Remake Dead Space 2
Reimagine Dead Space 3
Remake 2 and then reimagine 3 but keep the plot beats and locations because those weren’t the problem.
I would love if they announced a remake of 2 next since it's my favorite entry in the series. Arguably better than the first game but like the others said, hope they reimagine 3. The first 2 were fantastic but then DS3 went into a different direction and it wasn't that good.
Dead space 3 has a good premise and story for the series but they turned it into a co-op shooter instead of a survival horror game
@jrt87 It got patched a few hours ago in the US, and now the graphics look pretty great. It's really a shame it launched in that state when a fix was so close at hand. Regardless, it's now an amazing experience all around.
That inexplicable moment where EA does something right.
So far I am impressed with the launch and far more than Callisto. No game breaking bugs, no crashing constantly, no massive stuttering. Props to Motive
I am sure that the plan from inside EA will be to remake the second game if the first one is as successful as it seems it’s going to be. Then after that, the idea really should be to extensively remake the 3rd game. That could have been the pinnacle of horror games. The whole vibe I got from that was ‘The Thing’, but too much messing around with what made the first 2 games awesome really ruined the 3rd game.
EA better not interfere with Motive Studio on future Dead Space games, be it a Remake of Dead Space 2 or a brand new entry in the Dead Space series. EA are still on VERY thin ice with me after all the meddling they did with Dead Space 3, followed by what they did to Visceral Games.
No, make a new one.
Only PS2-era and earlier games are really in need of remakes, imo.
Could this be the start of EA doing a Capcom and becoming great again?
Konami currently having similar transformation.
All because of timely revisits to back catalogue titles to show what works after losing their way with customers.
I'd love DS2 to get the same treatment, and I'm not adverse to DS3 either. With DS3 though, I'd like to see them alter the somewhat bizarre ending, which even though I have played it through multiple times, still makes little sense to me (particularly if you then play the DLC).
I'd also like to see them pursue an entirely new game, though that should come after at least DS2 gets the DS1 Remake treatment...
N.i.c.e. more dead space remake is always welcome. A dead space 2 remake would be amazing.word up son
I'd prefer a new game in the series. Sure Pt.2+3 were great but they still hold up today (even more on Xbox with fps boost and the increased resolution...). On the other hand wouldn't say no to a remake as well. Just more Dead Space pls xD
Alternative fending in DS1 says they can Rd imagine DS2 also so they could go their own way but still in Dead Space universe
I'm absolutely loving Dead Space on PS5! Dead Space 2 Remake next, please.
It's nice to be able to play Dead Space 2 & 3 on my Series X at 60fps, which I will be playing after I finish the remake. They can skip the third game and make a brand new one after that.
@BrotherFilmriss The 60fps boost for Dead Space 2 & 3 is nice on Series X, but unfortunately, the resolution stays the same as the 360 originals at 720p. Which looks a little rough on a 4K oled display. But the added auto HDR looks good, though.
A remake of 2 and 3 wouldn’t be a bad thing per se, but I’m a little worn out with all the remakes and remasters. How about a straight up, all new Dead Space 4?
@Bionic-Spencer @Leonhart @dark_knightmare2 @IOI @Jaz007 @Notoriousmakavel What everyone else is saying for sure! Dead Space 2 Remake and a reimagining of Dead Space 3.
I'd also love to eventually see a proper new entry in the series, Dead Space 4. Unsure how they'd continue the story but that's jumping the gun a bit.
@DTfeartheBEARD Try it on PC if you can. Even my old laptop runs it at 120fps 1080p just fine and it looks way better than the 360 version. Plus it should be free to play if you already have gamepass.
@monostat7 I don't have a PC. But I'm fine with the 360 version thru backward compatibility on Series X. I play at my desk on the smaller oled tv (48 inches), and with inky blacks and Auto HDR, it still looks good.
PSVR2 first person eyeball scene please, complete with rumble and eye tracking to ensure you don't close your eyes
