IGN has posted another Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty gameplay video as part of its exclusive coverage for January 2023, which this time covers a boss battle and another weapon type. In the five-minute clip above, you'll see the protagonist face off against Aoye, a monster based on ancient Chinese legend from the text Shan Hai Jing.
The video follows on from the 10-minute gameplay slice uploaded last week, which revealed how the experience is an evolution of what Team Ninja has achieved in the past with Nioh. It's out for PS5, PS4 on 3rd March 2023. Will you fit it in amongst everything else launching in the next few months? Plan your gaming time carefully in the comments below.

N.i.c.e. nioh and nioh 2 are 2 of my favorite video games ever.and this game looks really good.the boss fights in nioh games are excellent.so this game is definitely gonna be excellent also.word up son
@KaijuKaiser it's the same Push Square community that didn't even have Nioh 2 in its top 100 PS4 games. Sometimes there's no accounting for taste 😅
Pre-ordered it over the weekend. Looking forward to the challenge it will have.
@pip_muzz or taste is an opinion and opinions differ?
This boss fight looked so rough visually in a way that ultimately felt like it affected the gameplay.
Demo was fun, if a little underwhelming. This boss fight looks nuts
OK this is an impressive looking boss fight that has me even more excited for the game, I'm really happy to see that they've improved even further from Nioh 1 and 2!
@pip_muzz
Nioh 2 wasn't in the top 100?
Dafuq.
Should be in the top 30 at least
Looks really good, can't wait. Top 2 anticipated game this year
I'll be all over this when it launches as i liked the demo enough to convince me that even though its pretty much nioh/nioh 2 in new clothes its damn slick and the combat is much more fluid.
Looking forward to this on Gamepass. I'll probably pick it up on a sale later, on PS5 or XSX, I don't know.
I found the demo to be decent if a little uninspiring, but I think the appeal will lie in the depth of combat options and it's hard to convey that in a demo. I'll be keeping an eye on this one for sure.
give us a date or something already…
@djape March 3rd 2023 is release date. Been announced early december last year...
@CapGod I think you’re grossly underestimating how many good games are actually on PS4. For example Nioh 2 has an 85 on Metacritic, which is strong, but only the 142nd highest rated game on PS4(that number will include some duplicates from re-releases and some expansions though)
No way I won't be getting this
@Zeke68 for real?? where the f have I been living 😅.. well thank you👍
edit. I mixed this with black myth wukong.. ***** me
I like the look of this a lot. Not sure its a day 1 purchase though. May wait to see some user review scores before diving in. I spent an hour or so going through and creating a list of games i wanted to play, both future releases and back log and the list is sitting at 53 games and i know i missed some, 30 of which are games already out. So i have time to wait on this.
Super excited for this. Spent like 1000 hours in Nioh 2, one of the best games of this generation.
Team Ninja is one of the few developers who has taken the Souls/Borne genre and bent it to their own sick imagination to make worthwhile games. Nioh and Nioh 2 were excellent games. Looking forward to this as well.
Nioh 2 is better than the Souls games bar Elden Ring and Bloodbourne.
Looks fantastic, I have a feeling I'll be seeing 'Crushing Defeat' quite often but all part of the fun!
Cool, but being a Nioh veteran I can say this boss fight looks actually very generic and boring. I'm pre-ordering the game though.
@ChrisDeku
Yet, Ghost is on the top 10 games for a lot of people.
Scores aren't a law. There is a bunch of remasters, remakes, dlc, obscure indies that shouldn't get the scores they get, that in reality Nioh 2 is actually higher than what it says.
Super excited for this. Nioh 2 was my second favorite souls game only being topped by elden ring. This boss fight looks intense.
@Grimwood Well, while it may have some similarities, on a surface level, it certainly plays very differently!
Classic sekiro mistake at the start there... dude tries to block, instead of jumping the sweep! Hours of having it beat into you will be a lesson learned, though!
@riceNpea elden ring combat is dark souls 3.5 except it's dark souls for infants/toddlers so that's below the bar. Which its that combat but the bosses are Sekiro and Bloodborne type of bosses that you'd find in those games.🤡
Even Sekiro and Bloodborne destroy elden ring in the combat department.
@Soulless666 so Gyuki is a good boss then that green monster?🤡
Stop acting like Nioh doesn't have bosses that are bad ...it's embarrassing.
Which you have to actually play woLong yourself due to that trash take it's hard to take you seriously.
@DivineX1 Seriously you may get rekt) Gyuki fight is much more fun.
Really hoping you can change the difficulty, game looks amazing.
@KidBoruto You can't. I played the closed-beta and got a survey after I killed final demo-boss. And a few weeks after they answered questions like yours with " No easier difficulty - we designed the game to be a challenge but a challenge you can overcome with help of ingame items and developing your skills and tactics while playing the game".
Looks dope, love it
