Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is kind of an odd duck. We didn't exactly love it in our review, but it resonated with some players and certainly stands out if nothing else. The jury is still out as to whether there is enough demand for a sequel, but legendary producer Tetsuya Nomura says he would be open to making one if fans can drum up some interest.
Speaking on a recent broadcast promoting the title's next DLC drop (as translated by NoisyPixel) Nomura recalled that "when Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin first came out, there was a lot of negative bashing, especially online." He recognized that, over time, some fans have become "very fond of Jack and his friends. So much so that some would love to see a sequel."
However, it doesn't seem like he (or Square Enix) is willing to push for it, noting that "if you do want that to happen, then it would certainly help if one person watching this spread the news to 10 other people. If word of mouth about the game spreads through the DLC’s completion, proving that this is a title that has really resonated with everyone, there may be a time when we can meet again."
Nomura states that he would personally "love to work with Kumabe-san from Koei Tecmo again.” Nobumichi Kumabe, if you didn't know, was the director of Stranger of Paradise, as well as of the excellent Persona 5 Strikers.

I mean he's not wrong, ultimately we dictate the market with our buying habits, but it just smells of desperation, and is a little akin to Yves Guillemot telling Ubisoft Staff "the ball is in your court".
I don’t expect a sequel but I would welcome one
for me it was a good 7/10
had fun with it, but cant see a sequel
Go full on yoshitaka amano acid-dream with the art style and I´ll be excited for chaos.
hell no the sooner this is forgotten the better
I think it's not a bad model to remake the job based main line FF's, such as FF3 and FF5.
Jack himself needs not apply. Let's have a new cast and story based on those FF's.
For me the worst part of the game wasn't the campy story but the gameplay itself felt so disjointed, not sure if it wants to be an rpg or ninja gaiden and the mix made the repetitiveness of retrying over and over a lot more bland than a linear pure action game line NG.
Technically it was well made, but I just wasn't having any fun playing it and considered just going to easy mode. If you're trying to skip gameplay for a bad story it's either a bad game design or a naughty dog game
I haven't touched my copy of the game yet, but do remember enjoying the two demos.
