The release of Street Fighter 6 is arguably the highlight of the fighting game calendar in 2023, with the latest iteration of the venerable franchise launching on 2nd June. We got a new clip showing off pro wrestler Thea Trinidad and the awesome new Real-Time Commentary feature in action.
Trinidad's voice is just one of several which can be chosen to hype up a match, making even a mundane match against the AI feel like it has real stakes. Several other commentators from the FGC (Fighting Game Community) will be available to narrate bouts as well, including Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez, Ryutaro “Aru” Noda, Kosuke Hiraiwa, and Steve “TastySteve” Scott, H.E. Demon Kakka, and James “jchensor” Chen.
What do you think of the Real-Time Commentary feature coming to Street Fighter 6? Will you be trying it out, or do you prefer to fight in stoic silence? Square off in the comments section below.

She also cos-played as Juri at the Royal Rumble last night.
If she sounds anywhere near as good as she looked fans will be in for a treat.
No thanks. I already know how bad I am at Street Fighter without commentators constantly pointing it out! I shall be turning this feature off!
I was there at the WWE Royal Rumble. Seeing Thea cos play as Juri was one of the coolest things to happen that night. She pulled that off really well.
Damn this is annoying!!! Thankfully it is optional, hopefully in every mode.
Honestly a great idea. Sports games have had commentators for years, makes sense that games which fit into a wider world of eSports start incorporating similar.
A great idea even though I have no idea who she is.

The Commentator options have a toggle called "Rally Support". If it's switched on, the commentator is always rooting for you to win and offers non-sarcastic words of encouragement if you lose. It certainly kept my salt at bay during my time with the Beta.
