EA's remake of cult classic Dead Space has had a flying start in the UK's physical sales chart. The sci-fi horror game has rocketed up to number one for its debut, where it sold best on PS5. 80 per cent of the boxed copies sold last week were on Sony's console.
Meanwhile, PS5 console exclusive Forspoken manages a number four debut. FIFA 23 and God of War Ragnarok outpaced the new release, in second and third respectively. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 slips down to sixth place.
The Last of Us continues its upswing on the back of the success of HBO's TV adaptation. The Last of Us: Part I is up to 15th, and The Last of Us Remastered is currently at number 31.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.

Really think when the last of us hits PC is when we going see the true power of the show in driving sales
Jeez, sort of a bummer. I finished Forspoken last night and loved it.
Not really a surprise when Dead Space still had people playing it on their PS3's when it was announced the remake was coming. Add to that the demo for Forspoken was utter poo and led people to cancel preorders or wait for a sale before buying it.
Really happy for Dead Space, it deserves all those sales and I'm personally also having a blast with it. I know it's probably unlikely now but I would still love remasters of the original 3 games, the third game would be interesting to experience without the microtransactions.
physical only sales chart pointless
@SolaceCreed I can confirm from myself that I played the demo and it was a big letdown even though my expectations were low. For example Days Gone was a game I kind of enjoyed apart from its big problems, but Forspoken feels surprisingly soul-less.
@Juanalf The third game should not have a remaster. It needs to be redone completely. Actually, it just needs to be forgotten and they can make a new Dead Space 3, the real one we all wanted. 3's issues go so far beyond MTs. 2 needs a remake like the first though.
@Jaz007 Third game definitely needs a complete do over. If there's one thing I hated, it was the devs ruining Isaac's and Ellie's character and making a dumb love triangle out of it with one of the many forgettable characters in DS3.
I don't care about Forspoken at all. Game looks horrible.
I'm really pleased about Dead Space though. I have never played the original so that remake is a brand new game to me and let me say it is brilliant so far. I'm only 2 hours in and already hooked. I can only imagine how gamers felt about it at the time the original came out. I finally understand why it is considered to be one of the greats. It is a strong start for me as gaming goes.
Plus, I love seeing Ragnarok still kicking ass in the charts.
Since you guys are clearly getting this information from gamesindustry, you should credit it at the bottom.
Also, it would be nice if could also mention what gamesindustry said, which is that even though Dead Space was No.1, launch sales were lower than The Callisto Protocol. That it sold less than half of what The Callisto Protocol managed in its first week back in December.
It is good context to have when doing this sales charts posts.
I hope EA feel silly about all the 'single player doesn't sell' stuff. Forspoken actually did better than i expected
I don't see how this could be surprising to anyone.
Wow. Couldn't even manage #1 in its debut week.
On the other hand, that's a much less Nintendo-centric chart than usual. I guess new PS5 stock must have rolled in.
@somnambulance I've been playing the demo on PC and have been impressed with how much fun it is to play
I am having fun with Forspoken.
Once I lowered the "Cuff Chat Frequency" to "minimum" and got my 2nd skill tree I settled in nicely (got third last night)
Not paying full price for rehash, so Dead Space is out. Held off on FE Engage until I have nothing for my commute (One Piece Odyssey on Steam Deck has that slot now)
I’m glad to see Forspoken in the fourth spot. I really enjoyed it and hope it does well enough for a sequel.
@carlos82 I thought it was excellent. If it would’ve released last year, it would’ve been in my top 5 games for the year. The traversal and combat are stellar.
