Oh hell yes, this is great news! Although I must admit it’s about a year sooner than I expected. It’s competing with Tears of the Kingdom, Diablo 4 and FF16. I don't have time for them all!
no mention of xbox on other sites either. seems that sony's push for Crpg's has begun to counter MS.
They had already said that the game was coming out in August, but the console version is a nice surprise, at least for people that play CRPGs in consoles. This is a pc game for me.
I think Larian are one of the best developers in the industry right now, they've been quietly making top-tier games for a while. Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2 are the best in the genre in my opinion.
This Is a Studio I Think Sony Should Grab To Compete With Microsofts Obsidian
As good as Divinity 1 and 2 were, I think the console versions certainly benefited being a year or so behind the PC version. It could be worth waiting a little while on this one.
Having said that it seems to have been on early access for PC forever now, so I guess it is in a good state?
@Kanji-Tatsumi I could agree more.
I'm very excited for this game. Divinity original sin 2 is among my top favorite games of all time. Put that in a Forgotten Realms world, amazing!
@kyleforrester87 I do think having the early access for quite some time on pc amounts to about the same time frame for console release vs when Divinity 1 and 2 came out for console. That is my hope anyways. As long as the bugs are not Bugbear big, I'll be fine with it.
@Elodin is divinity 2 that much better than 1?
Fantastic news. I hope to have a playstation fiver by release date. It will be a day one buy for me. Great studio Larian is, if people have not played the Divinity games, do yourself a favor and play them. Amazing experiences.
Incredible news, loved Divinity 2.
@Jtheripper In my humble opinion, yes, quite a bit
This is a ps5 console exclusive no xbox release. I think Microsoft is screwing themselves over by depending on gamepass as they’re main business model. More and more third party games will skip xbox because of gamepass.
I better crack on and finish Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Editions before August!
This is amazing, I was expecting to wait till 2024 for this on PS5 (if at all). Thank you, Larian.
@Jtheripper they made some good improvements yes. They improved on just about everything. I would say though if you didn't like DOS, its not that different that you may not like DOS 2.
@LiamCroft Do I need to have played the first two games?
Or can I just jump straight into this one and not be confused?
@KidBoruto I think it's a standalone story, but I'm not entirely certain.
@LiamCroft Still too early to tell I suppose heh. Hopefully we'll know more by release day.
