Developer Mediatonic has released an update about its ever-popular battle royale platformer, Fall Guys. The free-to-play game is undergoing a couple of changes to make the play experience better, and beyond that, Fall Guys Creative — a level editing suite — is coming soon.
Effective immediately, the maximum lobby size in the Main Show - Solos playlist has been reduced from 60 to 40 players. The main reason for this change is to decrease the amount of time spent matchmaking, so you should find you're getting into games faster. An additional bonus effect is that your odds of winning have gotten a little bit better.
Another thing to note is that something called vaulting is to remain a fixture of the game's flow. The term 'vaulting' refers to Mediatonic only allowing certain Rounds to be playable during a period of time, with the lineup changing every so often. With everything in play all at once, it can lead to bugs and other problems; restricting which Rounds are live and which aren't means Mediatonic can better maintain the game's content as it rotates in and out of play.
Fall Guys Creative is the level editor heading to the game, as announced last year. The studio has now confirmed this mode will be launched with the game's next seasonal update. There's no fixed date on that just yet, but it looks like fans will be able to craft their own heinous stages within the coming months.

So in layman's terms they've reduced the player count from 60 to 40 due to dwindling player numbers?
Hardly "ever-popular" then right?
As far as I know they haven't fixed the broken ps5 trophies since the ps5 version launched 8-9 months ago. Used to play this alot but since it went free 2 play not played a single game.
@solocapers the games still very popular or it wouldn't have outlasted similar games. Just because you don't or have never played yourself doesn't mean the game isn't performing 😂 not played for over a year myself but I'm not deluded.
@daveofduncan I played it to death when it first came out and played it again before Christmas thank you very much.
Out of the 4 or 5 times I played over the Christmas period the lobbies barely ever filled up.
A rather odd post from you getting all salty when it's obvious that player numbers are dwindling enough to make this change in the first place. Hence the jibe about being ever popular when it's clearly on the slide.
That's no criticism for the game and as noted other games die quicker. It's always going to happen.
I still play regularly.
So they’ve double downed on vaulting like half the game away? And on top of that, reduced the size of players per game?
They really love driving me and my friends away from this game.
