Looking for a new baseball game to play and not comfortable podding out for MLB The Show 23’s asking fee? Konami may have you covered – albeit with a much slimmer package overall. Announced during last night’s Nintendo Direct, but available now on the PS Store for the PS4, WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros will cost you just £0.79/$0.99.
That’s not a typing error by the way – it really costs less than a dollar, and there are no microtransactions either. Of course, you get what you pay for, and this is more like a demo than a fully-fledged release. You’ll build your own baseball team from a pool of 300 players, and then you can compete online against others around the world.
There is local play if you want to practice with family and friends, but don’t expect a sprawling campaign and dozens of single player modes. This feels like Konami putting out feelers to see if there’s any interest in the more recent Jikkyo Powerful Pro Yakyu games releasing overseas. And just to be clear: we’re interested!

Done! (Just in case its an error)
@RadioHedgeFund It's not!
I don't know anything about baseball but I like these designs so I bought it. Have seen many fans saying this is a demo compared to the main games. That's ok for the price and also a good way for Konami to know if there is interest in the west for the series.
I'd buy that for a dollar
or less as it turns out, might as well give it a go
What about those of us that bought Jikkyo Powerful Pro Yakyu 94 on the SNES? Are we expected to pay 79p for this? It should be a free upgrade!!
@SoulChimera Haha! No free upgrades I'm afraid!
$1.49 CAD? What are these slimy ***** at Konami up to?
Wow, just a $1? Jeez wasn't expecting that lol.
@Hundred_Hand_Slap Slimy Konami being slimy *****. 🍁
@EVIL-C ya my moose antlers are tingling, there's a disturbance in the maple syrup.
@Hundred_Hand_Slap As if millions of poutines suddenly cried out on terror, then were suddenly silenced by a wave of maple bacon-flavoured gravy.
Pass...probably not even worth the 99 cents
for those who are unaware, this is a longstanding franchise. it has been around since 1994 on the snes and now has 25+ entries. if you have no problem supporting konami, it seems like it is worth a shot at that price.
How are the trophies? Can't seem to find them on PSNProfiles or Exophase. Hmm
As a fan of all baseball, including both the MLB & NPB leagues I grabbed this game the moment I heard of it. I'm really enjoying it thus far, and can actually say it's the best $1.49 CDN I've ever spent on a video game! Thanks Konami!
@Hundred_Hand_Slap Looks like there aren’t any.
@Bentleyma There has to be. They just haven't been updated on Sony's servers.
@Hundred_Hand_Slap Maybe, but not every game has trophies. Onigiri doesn’t.
