Intriguing Soulslike Lies of P is getting a physical release in Europe and North America, with a partnership announced between the title's South Korean publisher Neowiz and UK firm Fireshine. We also got a mood-setting introductory trailer to enjoy in the meantime.
We hadn't really considered that Lies of P might not be getting a physical release, but in any case, it's welcome news. The game will launch in August (with an exact date yet to be nailed down), and physical editions will be available alongside the digital launch.
Are you looking forward to Lies of P? Will you treat yourself to a physical edition, or have you completely embraced the digital future? Find a place of pride in the comments section below.

Definitely Looking Forward to this one. may even go physical, but let's be real on physical disc's these days. They largely serve as purchase verification, and still require downloading the large majority of content in almost all modern releases. Not install from the disc.... Download.
Regardless I'm hoping this serves as the fresh modernizing update that Fromsoft games desperately need but refuse to implement but still Maintain that design and combat pedigree they started.
Yeah i'm going to grab this as it looks pretty damn cool. The majority of games get a physical release thankfully because it means i can source sub £60 copies even if it is only the installer. I will never buy day one digital only versions of games for £70 upwards as i still think digital prices are disgusting and should be cheaper..
@KundaliniRising333 this whole practice of releasing physical versions of the games that only have the verification code or installer needs to be abolished as i see it as a means to force the consumer into buying digital only and taking away the consumers options..i'll buy the games on disc even if i know all it contains is the verification code because i can get the games so much cheaper so whilst its not ideal and i really do find the model abhorent i dont have much choice..
@Northern_munkey agreed!! And yeah that makes sense especially with the full price ask for these games now. If you can get it cheaper. Then absolutely.
@jrt87 oh damn you are totally right. I completely spaced the selling games aspect of it. Definitely a place for that being a buying physical release factor along with collectes. However totally agreed on the activation keys aspect as well. For me, if I'm not actually getting the game on the disc, I'd rather not create the eventual needless addition to garbage and emissions the disc creates.
@KundaliniRising333 So all Activision Blizzard could as well be digital only. The last COD made me totally skip these things are a waste of plastic. Release physical with a game on there or just don't waste it Limited Run Games are one of the few games that are worth buying physically nowadays.
Physical 80% of the time for me, I buy the odd indie digital that's about it. I wouldnt have even considered Lies of P digital, so welcome news.
@KundaliniRising333 In some places physical is literally cheaper than digital which makes no sense at all! For example in Australia you can preorder Final Fantasy 16 digitally for AUD $115, or I can get it on Amazon for $85, there’s literally no reason for me to ever go digital unless a game is digital only and I’d imagine that’s the case for many people including other reasons such as terrible internet and potential resell value. I originally wanted to go digital only this gen because I’m used to it on pc, but the way prices are here down under I’m getting a free game every 4 full price purchases compared to digital. It’s also awesome looking at my collection on my shelf and enjoying the cover art like my recent pick up of Octopath Traveller 2, the cover artwork is fantastic!
@GorosBat I hear you on that. It genuinely makes absolutely no sense that digital retails at a higher price than physical. It kuterslly goes against the lies told about how prices are set in this economic system.
I was simply stating that unfortunately disc's are really nothing more than verification keys. However I do here you on resell value the artwork as well. Just crazy that they don't even serve as a friggin sad space saver.
Man I loved cover art back in the day, I even collecedted game pros like crazy for all the cool art put into those magazines.
I'm 100% physical. Won't even buy a game if it releases digital only so this is great news.
@Cloud39472 the only physical I’d be is getting up to change the disc, furk that
I hope the disc is Pi's face so I can stick a finger in the disc's hole in place of it's nose.
Happy to hear this! Though I'll prob just grab the digital version for dirt cheap in a few years...
