They grow up so fast, don't they? PS4 make-'em-up Dreams celebrates its third anniversary today, and to go along with the milestone, Media Molecule has unveiled some of its plans for the fourth annual Impy Awards.
In case you don't know, the Impy Awards is a yearly ceremony in which the developer and the Dreams community celebrate the best creations and creators from the last 12 months. This ultimately manifests itself in a big livestreamed event, with a mixture of live-action presentation and made-in-Dreams props and sets. It's always a good laugh, and full of nods and winks for the die-hard fans.
This year's ceremony takes place on 26th March 2023, when Media Molecule will livestream the Impys from bespoke, Dreams-made islands. Beyond that, there are other streams planned before the main event, and you can join the fun by customising your very own island. These community-made islands will be shown off during the event, and the studio will highlight some of its favourites.
Finally, nominees for the various categories featured in the Impys have been announced, and you can get all the details over on the PS Blog.
Happy birthday to Dreams! Are you still playing this game and its myriad community creations? Tell us in the comments section below.

Wow, I thought Dreams has been out a lot longer than that. As much as I don't care for PS games going to PC Im surprised this isn't one of them.
Still can’t believe this hasn’t yet been a free monthly game or even been on PS+ extra.
@Nightcrawler71 I feel like PlayStation mostly goes by the sink or swim outlook on how they handle games and some studio’s. I wish Evolution was still around, I want a modern take of Motorstorm badly.
I’d rather them focus on a Dreams PS5 version or update than this impy nonsense….
They are certainly dedicated to Dreams I'll give them that. I don't get it but I admire them sticking to their guns.
I know it's not likely but I'd love to see them make another Littlebigplanet game one day. The first two games were just brilliant in so many ways.
How about they make a game. At this point though, I wonder how many actual game devs still work there.
@LieutenantFatman have you tried dreams? It does have a lot of lbps spirit, focusing on the creative. You don't even have to be interested in making your own stuff, there are tons of games made by other players, and a surprisingly high on average quality to them.
stop wastin time and make a full 3d platformer
@Balosi
Yes, Dreams is pretty good, I did enjoy the adventure MM put together using the engine. A very different beast to LBP but that's to be expected.
@arra1213 tearaway was simply amazing, I know they're a small team so anything they make will take time but I would love for them to make another platformer like that
@theMEGAniggle totally agree just look at psychonauts 2
media molecule can do something like that or better
@arra1213 exactly, I'm sure they got something great cooking for us, hopefully Dreams related
