We love a good train game here at Push Square, and one of the highlights of the 2023 train aficionado calendar has to be Railway Empire 2, which is pulling into the station sometime in 2023. Publisher Kalypo Media has revealed that other disciples of the rails can look forward to a couple of new features whenever it does arrive.
First, Railway Empires 2 is getting cooperative multiplayer for up to four players, a feature that players of the first Railway Empire have wanted for ages. Considering the work that can be put into a given map, terraforming the landscape, optimising your routes, and ensuring everything runs on time, having a few extra helping hands along can't hurt.
Next, a PS4 version of the game will be available at launch. Previously only announced for PS5, this a welcome addition, as while pretty, Railway Empire was never very graphically demanding, and we can't imagine the sequel will be either.
Now, if we could just see some more gameplay, we would sleep soundly at night. We are officially running on fumes, having only the announcement trailer to tide us over in the meantime. Do you love a good train game, too? Which is your favourite? All aboard for the comments section below.

Railway Empire is one of the best strategy games you can buy and is just as good if not better than the original railroad tycoon games. Very excited about the sequel but want to know more about it.
@Dalejrfanfreak do you remember Transport Tycoon?
I never played Railroad Tycoon. Do you think this is complex to learn?
Does anyone know if this covers the UK? I think it was DLC on the first game.
@SJBUK Yes, apparently the whole of Europe and North America.
Sounds like my kind of game.
@Topov81 Thanks, will keep an eye on it then. It's taken the Mr's fancy and there's not much she like on the PS5.
