Capcom were the biggest winners once again from the latest State of Play, with its new Resident Evil 4 and Street Fighter 6 trailers attracting almost 1.5 million views combined on PlayStation’s official channel. Despite being the headline attraction, Suicide Squad: The Justice League attracted less views than Bandai Namco’s remake Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections – a concerning result, although a second behind-the-scenes added another 55k to its tally.
Here are all the trailer views, accurate at the time of writing, based strictly on PlayStation’s YouTube channel:
- Resident Evil 4: 1 million
- Street Fighter 6: 461k
- Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections: 292k
- Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League: 253k
- Baldur's Gate 3: 167k
- Destiny 2: Lightfall: 110k
- Humanity: 78k
- Wayfinder: 59k
- Goodbye Volcano High: 55k
- Tchia: 52k
- Synapse: 43k
- Journey to Foundation: 40k
- Green Hell VR: 35k
- Before Your Eyes: 23k

Not a surprise really.
The top 2 games have been around much much longer.
The numbers for Baldur's Gate 3 make me giddy. Especially when you take out Suicide Squad and Naruto, which garnered numbers based on brand recognition, not actual expectation about the game.
But I'm sad about Before Your Eyes : this game is a prime example of what gaming (and VR gaming) can develop narrative experience beyond all other media.
Again it's sad that the least viewed trailers are the VR ones.
Couldn't agree more, Capcom were easily the star of the show and to be fair they have been smashing it for a few years now. Both Resident Evil 4 and Street Fighter 6 look to be great games
Yeah, the duo of Capcom games was easily the big highlight for me. And Tchia, but I don't expect that to get big viewer numbers.
@AdamNovice In fairness, they probably were the weakest trailers. I'm sure if, for example, Astro Bot or Half-Life Alyx had been announced, they'd be higher up.
I know what you mean, though!
I know trailers are a great way to gauge interest but I also know that for me if I see something I’m interested in, I tend to go on media blackout as much as possible. I was doing that for suicide squad until I heard the reactions, but had to then check it out myself to see because it sounds like it might be a stinker.
There's a lot of closet weebs out there.
I'm one of them. Damn it, out the closet!
@RBMango Tchia continues to look lovely. That it is coming to PS+ Extra Day 1 was my highlight of the show.
Really gonna miss that skirt Ashley wore in RE4. /s
I'm still buzzing over Baldur's Gate.
I wasn't expecting to see it there at all. I didn't think we'd see it on consoles for years.
RE4 is looking nice too.
I'm not sure if I'll play it at launch - If the VR mode that's coming after launch is the full campaign I want to try it that way first.
No surprise here. Capcom's showings were easily the most impressive of the bunch. Yeah its just updates on two games we already knew about but they are both among the most highly anticipated games of the year so it's no shock they took the two top spots.
Capgod just seems to be on another level right now. SF6 looks great, RE4 looks amazing!
Such a shame about Suicide Squad and everything going on there, looks like our next "live service" tragedy.
Ever since the PS3 and 360 era, Capcom have slowly and surely been repairing their reputation with an almost constant flow of amazing games. Sure they have missteps here and there, but they really have shown that they are willing to listen to criticism and get stronger by it!! Again, their games were the most interest to me at a Sony State of Play and I can’t wait until the end of March to play Resident Evil 4 and summer for Street Fighter 6!! Also, Cammy is my main so I was super happy to see her official announcement!! Looks like she will be an amazing character and loved her redraw!!
These two were like the only exciting things and we've already known about them for a while. Maybe Baldur's Gate 3 if I was a CRPG fan and that Lightfall trailer if I was a huge fan of Destiny 2.
Wayfinder topping Tchia is mind boggling, but I suppose it makes some sense.
Sort of concerning for PSVR with the trailers garnering a lack of interest. Also, those Suicide Squad numbers, while higher than most, certainly have to concern Rocksteady and likely Sony for spending the money on PR.
However, glad to see Capcom having huge success for their continuous focus on delivering good content.
Capcom has an amazing year in store: Street Fighter 6, Resident Evil 4 Remake and Mega Man Battle Network Collection. All 3 games look like potential Day 1 buys
Really looking forward to tchia.
@get2sammyb While your not wrong it has been a trend with the SoPs.
I am 100% pre ordering these two.
Capgod strikes again.
Since 2017 they have been on a streak.
This shows again that Japanese studios rule the playing field. Imagine what Sony could put together if they'd have squareenix, sega and hopefully a back to form konami (someday) fully on board.
@Bunchesopuppies there's a classic costumes option for the deluxe edition I think
Street Fighter 6 and Resident Evil 4 have been the big winners in every State of Play they've been in now that I think about it lol(in terms of positivity).
Resident evil 4 saved the SOP to be a complete disaster.
No suprise there. Personally SF6 was the only highlight in the presentation.
Up until the moment the RE4 trailer showed up I was regretting ever stopping my Ishin session to look at the stream. And even then, it's not like I needed more footage to be excited about that game.
RE4 looks decent. Clay Fighter 6 looks rubbish though
I know it's probably going to be rubbish, but I really want to give Wayfinders a fair shake.
Capcom’s been on a roll with non-stop bangers since 2017.
Not surprising one bit, they are two of Capcom's biggest tentpole franchises.
