Dying Light 2's visceral combat system is getting an upgrade in the game's next update, which adds that and more when it drops on PS5 and PS4 on 20th April.
Combat will be enhanced to feel more impactful, with developer Techland stating these upgrades will be "significant" and will make combat even more "brutal". In addition, a transmogrification system is being added, meaning you will never need to choose style over substance, and will be granted greater control over how your character looks (always important).
What do you think of these seemingly out-of-the-blue enhancements coming to Dying Light 2? Get to wrestling in the comments section below.

Well it will need to include some major changes to the combat vs human enemies to get me to come back, as I just uninstalled this game a couple days ago because of how woeful that aspect is.
The support for this game is great but without story DLC I just don’t feel the need to return to it for this. I’d rather they focus on a third game now.
I’ve played through this twice already. If this was dropping with some story dlc I might have been tempted to give it a go, but unfortunately these changes on their own won’t be enough to make me want to come back and play it again.
I do find it strange that transmog systems aren’t just a standard thing. Devs always seem to add them later like it’s a surprisingly new request they couldn’t have anticipated. Was actually surprised that Hogwarts had it in from the start.
I dont get the whole transmog thing in first person games, like with borderlands etc why do people buy the gear, so you can see it on the menu🙃
Great game though I didnt actually finish it first time around, so this will be a nice return
@itsfoz it's getting story dlc
What has changed since it first released? Haven't played since then, didn't even beat the story, just seemed un fun. Dl1 was much better and intense.
Asking for Colin Moriaty, have they fixed the trophies yet?
Even though I bought Dying light 2 at launch I could never get into it like I did the first game. Will give it one more go when this update lands and just hope the new combat improves things.
@thefourfoldroot1 Not only just from the start but Hogwarts also has the perfect ideal version of it something most games seem to fail at with Transmog.
I love that they continue to update the game, but I have such a love/hate relationship with practices like this. I usually only play single player games once through , so I generally wait for the game to be in it's best state before I play (Unless it's some big blockbuster I want to play immediately GOW, Horizon, etc). The continued improvements just keep pushing this game back for me, when I keep asking what else they could add that could make the experience that much better, and the longer I wait the cheaper I'll be able to pick up the game as well. It's a weird feeling.
@Nightcrawler71 Same. The first game is one of my top three zombie games of all time but I stopped playing the second game after opening up the second part of the city. The characters and writing aren't as good and it's not really scary, even at night, which is kind of important in this genre.
A couple of things they could do to seriously improve the game.
Stop weapons from breaking. At which point is that fun ? ( I'm also looking at YOU Zelda breath of the wild)...it's a terrible game mechanic that adds nothing but irritation.
Next. Guns. Give people guns in the game. What Zombie game is fun without guns ? Oh hang on....NO ZOMBIE GAME IS FUN WITHOUT GUNS.
I would love to have input into so many game development meetings. I'd just remind everyone "....make it fun.....it's a GAME!!! "
Cheers all, have a lovely day
@Uromastryx Why do you buy the clothes you want to wear when you only see them in the mirror?
They're all very welcome changes! I look forward to finally trying this game out, soon as I play thru and beat the 1st game and it's DLC.
