You may choose to focus on all the fizzes and crackles of Lars Alexandersson’s moveset in upcoming PS5 fighter Tekken 8, but we only have eyes for his immaculately sculpted barnet. Just look at him barely breaking a sweat in Time’s Square: his hair doesn’t move a millimetre. And by the end of the battle – which he wins on the strength of his good looks alone – he’s just as well turned out as he was at the start.
This game’s looking great, though, isn’t it? There’s probably some deeper analysis to be done about the character’s abilities, but we just can’t get past the bob, to be honest.

@KaijuKaiser To be fair it was the game director who made it sound like it's not anytime soon.
That said, the first closed alpha test is next week and these characters will probably be included.
I hope Eliza makes a return (yes, I went there. I am ready to defend my statement).
Never was much of a Lars person but cool that he is back.
@KaijuKaiser To be fair, these recent showcases are for characters already revealed; Law, King and Lars were already confirmed to be in the game prior to their trailer, that’s why they’re being dropped every 3 days (
That said, it does still seem surprising that they’d throw these out now, and not towards the end of the year where they’d be pretty close to the release date, but * shrugs* who knows, maybe it’s better this way.
As for Lars, I don’t have much to say about him, but I did like the reference to his time as a guest character in Naruto: Ninja Storm 2. I also wonder if he’ll factor into the story somehow; given he was the protag in Tekken 6, and is technically a Mishima you’d think he’d be a secondary character easily, but unless I’m mistaken he had no role whatsoever in Tekken 7, so who knows if he’ll even make a cameo * shrugs*
Either way, I’m eager to see who else makes the base roster (I’m hoping Feng makes it, but if not, at least I’ve got Law as a backup).
I really hope they do have more modes than Tekken 7. It's the only thing keeping Tekken from being perfect
@Grimwood Tekken is not a Beat Em’ up, it’s a fighting game.
@Grimwood that's uhhh just not true
Fighting games play wildly different from each other, even within one series (see MKX vs MK11 or Guilty Gear Xrd vs Guilty Gear Strive), even if at a glance it's just one character on the left and one on the right since 1991.
To be fair though, Tekken might be the series that doesn't make huge leaps between entries and there's a lot of legacy that carries over to each next one.
"Just look at him barely breaking a sweat in Time’s Square: his hair doesn’t move a millimetre."
So he's the one who stole Paul Phoenix's hair gel!
One thing I'm sure: This game will win the most annoying narrator ever award. I hope it can be turned off.
That's a lot of hairspray.
Was Lei confirmed for this one yet?
