Last year’s Trophies for MLB The Show 22 were fairly straightforward, but they did require a little luck in a couple of places. Assuming you got the rub of the green, you could have it wrapped up in a weekend, but it looks like developer San Diego Studio has gone back to the drawing board with its Platinum pot for MLB The Show 23. While there’s nothing too difficult here, it will take longer to unlock.
Crucially, the developer clearly wants you to see and do more in the baseball sim. Therefore, you’ll need to complete the entirety of the new Negro Leagues storyline mode, which doubles as a kind of playable docuseries detailing the history of some of the sports defining players. You’ll also need to complete your Yearly and Contract goals in Franchise mode.
Elsewhere, you’ll need to sell a diamond ranked player in Diamond Dynasty, hit a home run that has at least five seconds of air time, and spend a fair amount of time in March to October. While many of these tasks are pretty simple, you’re going to have to invest a fair number of hours into unlocking this Platinum, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, we like how it spans most major modes.
Are you looking forward to your first pitch in this year’s game? Strike us out, and let us know if you’ll be going for the Platinum in the comments section below.

I wonder how long it takes to earn a diamond ranked player and what the odds are?
@Anke Odds will be somewhat low at launch but will get progressively easier over the course of the season.
Can't wait for Friday but I'm only interested in Franchise.
I wish they would have had the actual WBC and the Negro League in a franchise (or even season) setting, I would have played them for sure.
