The eagerly anticipated remake of Resident Evil 4 on PS5 arrives this week, on 24th March, and we thought it was simply outstanding. Capcom's marketing machine has, appropriately, kicked into overdrive, and today we were treated to a cute, somewhat disturbing anime trailer for the game.
The soothing style of animation belies the seriousness of its subjects. Who would have thought that the chainsaw-toting Dr Salvador could be such a sweetheart? Or, that Los Plagas-infested Colmillos could be such a good boy, despite the tentacles?
What do you think of this fun little short, and where are your hype levels for Resident Evil 4? Will you be rushing out for the remake on Friday? Let us know in the comments section below.

Unironically, an RE game set in the Alps would be a cool idea
This animation style is an homage to the classic series, Heidi Girl of the Alps, one of the first anime worked on by Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata (of Studio Ghibli fame)
Capcom releasing a Resident Evil-themed parody of World Masterpiece Theater wasn't on my Bingo Card for 2023, but I suppose weirder things have happened.
Superb!! Was not expecting the rainbow head split!!
Okay, it's cute and disturbing all right π
Heidi's place really went to hell after she left.
Ah, and the classic and quite disturbing gag on A Dog of Flanders at the end.
I guess Japan is going through a βcuteβ phase.
This was funny.π
@Tenma220 Thanks for explaining the reference! I'll have to check that film out.
