We should probably just spend our time sitting on website for rating boards at this point. Every now and again, a rating for an unannounced game pops up, and these always lead to an official unveiling shortly after. Today's edition is Super Mega Baseball 4, as discovered by Gematsu:
Over on Taiwan's ratings website, there's a new listing for the unannounced sequel in Metalhead Software's beloved arcade baseball series. It's coming to all modern platforms, including PS5 and PS4 — assuming this is legit (which it almost certainly is).
The last we heard from this studio was back in 2021, when it was announced that EA had acquired the developer. So, whenever SMB4 surfaces, it'll have EA Sports branding and, presumably, a higher budget behind it. Aside from that, we'll hopefully get another fun entry in this consistently good series.

They need to go back to the crowd noise from SMB2; it was awful in SMB3, making it almost unplayable for me. The SMB series offers the best baseball gameplay — bar none. I LOVE this series overall, so I'm potentially excited — EA being involved does give me pause, though.
I loved the first game, and second was a great improvement. The third game was a total miss though :/
Preferred the look and feel of the 1st game tbh.
@Smiffy01 First was cute graphically, and I liked the upgrades they removed from SMB2/3. Gameplay I feel is a bit better on 2, but it's faster and tougher.
I never tried 3 but this is a great baseball series. I had totally forgot Metalhead was bought out by EA. Will be wild to see the next one EA branded.
I hope they bring back some of the zaniness from the first game.
