Well this is a lot of Bethesda games…
Part of me wishes I had waited a bit longer instead of buying Kena recently (never got around playing it anyway), another is glad I got it since I was able to support the developers of such a wonderful game.
All those Bethesda games are definitely being used as evidence in a certain ongoing drama also taking place in the industry.
Very transparent!
Gotta make as much money from sony b4 all the big ms exclusives
Sackboy? What? Didn't that game get added to PS Plus Essential days ago?
Anyway, not a fan of Bethesda shooters except for Doom Eternal I have already beat. Kena is another highlight, but I beat that too, soooo..
Maybe next month
PS Plus Premium is disappointing after a good few months, but Extra is great again!
The logic at which certain games are selected for PS Plus Premium is so bizzare. The original 3 Doom games are ports of the originals that were made available on PS4, XONE and Switch in 2019. Dishonored : Definitive Edition is another PS4 Remaster.
Guess Classic games fans will just have to wait until next month.
I'll take Riders Republic, but not much interest in anything else on offer here
Dishonored showing up there - I 100% it on PS3, including the Dunwall Trials. Never again.
Pretty bare month for me considering I played them all via game pass. I’ll probably check out monster boy and kena
Not as good as the last few months. DOOM is always fun though.
@Grimwood that Microsoft is willing to allow their games on competing subscription services.
@Grimwood They're going to use it to say, "Look how strongly we support rival subscription services!"
Been meaning to get to Kena for a while. Wonder if I’ll have the time. With a new platform released just over a month ago it’s hard to find the time for all these great Extra games.
Odd that Spider-Man (2018) is leaving the service, you'd have thought 1st party games would've stayed indefinitely.
I already own everything I would’ve been interested in. But I already have a ginormous backlog as it is between all 3 consoles so that just means I don’t have to add even MORE to what seems like a never ending pit.
Pleased with Kena and Paradise Killer, always wanted to try that one out. No idea when I will play them but hopefully one day before they leave the service!!
I'll be saving £20 per year by switching from Premium to Extra.
Thanks, Sony!
Will give Doom eternal and Monster boy a go. Ive only just decided to sub to Extra so there is alot for me to get through aswell as my physical stuff.
"As part of our normal content refresh, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Resident Evil, and NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 will be among some of the titles leaving the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in May. Members with Game Catalog benefits can still play by May 15. You can always check the ‘Last chance to play section’ on the PlayStation Plus -> Collections page on the PS5 console, or PlayStation Plus -> Games -> Games Catalogue on the PS4 console for titles you might want to play before they leave the service. "
Kena is a big surprise I was thinking it for months, but as many games I still want to play, I said ok it can wait as it can be very hard (reviews). The rest is great too, I got about 6 games total what interests me so a good month again!
I’m subscribed to Extra and I have no time to play much of what’s available. My backlog is huge.
To compound matters, Horizon Blazing Shores, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Final Fantasy 16 are all coming out over the next couple months, starting next week.
It’s a great problem to have.
@8bit4Life Yeah I don't have time for all these games either! Not even touched Tchia yet!
Kiss my face! What a month. There's multiple games I'll play there
@get2sammyb definitely agree. They have a ton of first party titles that need to be added
@ActionPanther really love that game. One of the greatest metrovania ever. Highly recommended to anyone who hasn't played it
@get2sammyb I'm kind of surprised that Sony have taken the bait if that was indeed the intention.
@ChakaL00T sound like there trying to get more spiderman sales before part 2 comes out
For anyone interested Dishonored is on sale, on the PSstore, for £3.99 and Dishonored 2 is £3.19
No need for premium to enjoy the first game and grab that bargain for the second.
Not a doom fan so this sucks. Also where the PS2 games
Good stuff - at least for those who don't have most of these
Don't sleep on riders republic, some ubi jank, but a lot of fun to be had in that title!
@get2sammyb Its Sony's subscription service so they must of gave permission to include these games and even pay for their inclusion. So they should be fully aware how it would look to the courts.
Unless this was part of a deal made years ago, before the acquisition.
Been waiting to play Kena since it released! Super pumped and glad it payed off to wait. Toss in Doom Eternal and Riders Republic and I’m over the moon.
Very happy with Kena, have been wanting to purchase for a while but assumed it would be on here eventually. I'm finally starting to learn patience to save money...
This month is Playstation Plus Bethextra.
@get2sammyb It does take 2 to tango, though. I mean, ultimately it's Sony who dictates what gets released on its services, not Bethesda or Microsoft.
Sure Bethesda Microsoft can offer, Sony doesn't have to accept.
It's also been announced spiderman will be leaving the service this month. Which is a bad move in my opinion with the sequel not too far away.
I mean, its obvious whats going on here but lets not pretend that this isnt a great month.
I own most of these, and at least in my point of view, that means that these games are worth spending your money on, if you never played these games, or just got a ps5, ps+extra is worth a whole year's subscription based on this month alone.
@get2sammyb And this is not wrong. There are more MS-owned games on PS than Sony-owned ones on Xbox.
I had Kena wishlisted but hey. Might try Riders Republic and Evil Within, too. The classic Dooms, on the other hand, evoked a chuckle since I just grabbed them on Switch last week.
So what is the general thought about Riders Republic now that it's been out for a while?
Bad MTX riddle stupid Ubisoft game?
or
Fun sports game to launch from time to time?
(precision : I'm not interested in general in multiplayer games)
@Max_the_German That's because Microsoft have bought studios that already had loads of games on playstation, keeping those games on playstation doesn't mean xbox has brought games to playstation. Only exception are the Minecraft spin offs.
@Titntin Is Riders Republic good then? I missed it because I'm not a big ubi fan, but its cheap on Amazon and I usually like snowboarding games. Shaun white on 360, 1080 on n64, cool boarders on PlayStation, ssx tricky on gamecube, all good games
Funny, as I was told MS don't put their games on other subscription services.....
In all seriousness, it's a good month. Great to see Kena on there, well worth playing
Premium is a joke. Can't wait for the 2 or 3 more classics that no one asked for too 👌
@Sakai Given those games you like I would definately try Riders Rupublic!
It was a lot of fun whilst it lasted.
I particularly liked the bike obstacle courses which required tight control and reminded me of watching trials motor bikes on a program called 'kick start' - which was probably over before most of you were born I realise!
If you are subbed anyway, I definitely recommend giving it a try
@UltimateOtaku91 To bring Doom and Wolfenstein now to PS Plus is a decision made by the today’s Xbox executives. And it’s very intentional.
Kena, nice 😁
Also, Rider Republic is probably the type of game that should release day one on subscription services, I haven't tried it, but I did like Steep, to some extent when I tried PSNow in the past. And the car/plane/boat one was alright on a service like this too. Easy to get into them, but easy to just move on from them too
Yay Kena!!! I’ve been waiting to play that.
Already own Kena but good addition 👍
Riders Republic will be snapping up.
@Titntin thanks for the heads up, appreciate it
@Max_the_German I thought you meant bringing games to playstation in general, but yes bringing them to playstation plus is on their part.
I heard you like Doom bro, so here's some Doom for your Doom.
On the upside was close to buying kena earlier this week, glad I didn't
Looking to play at least 4-5 of these so that’s amazing!!
Straight trash month! No variety, yet again a one publisher dump of games. 🙄
Bit strange to put Sackboy on Extra considering it's on Essential but okay.
Kena is pretty solid! Coincidently I am playing Slay-the-Spire on Switch, and it is really excellent.
For anyone interested in deck-builders, it is very accessible but with a great degree of depth once you find your feet
Not so great for those that also got a Xbox!
Only game I’m pleased to see there is Riders Republic. Seems the game has a had a lot of cool updates since I owned it so I won’t mind jumping back in for free and for more then a free weekend hahaha.
So question: what makes a game like dishonored (released on ps3) a PS Premium game, while The Evil Within (released on ps3) is considered a PS Extra game???
Definitely pumped for Kena and Paradise Killer. Two games I wanted to play but didn't see myself buying anytime soon. Maybe I'll go back to Doom Eternal finally, or at least sell my physical copy.
the doom games going to premium is so lazy, the games go on sale for >£1.60 all the time. In fact they're on sale right now.
Just buy them for life for basically the price of 1 month of premium.
Doom, Doom, Doom, more Doom, even more Doom. Did I forget to mention Doom? Man this list is the most Doomiest.
Seriously not a bad list. I'll play some Doom and Wolfenstein from this list.
I'm pretty happy with the Plus tier this month; I played Doom Eternal on the PS4 and sold my physical copy, but I've been interested in trying it in the 120 FPS mode on PS5!
If they had added the PS1 version the final Doom or quake to premium that would’ve been more interesting than just a bunch of cheapo PS4 doom ports.
I LOVE YOU PS PLUS EXTRA, I LOVE YOU
Riders Republic is really fun on a controller on PC. I never really put a lot of time into it but played it 6-7 hrs during my Ubisoft + subscription. Highly recommend to anyone who likes arcade race with progression systems.
Great month. I'll be jumping into Kena. I was expecting it to show up any month now. And Monster Boy is great. I played it years ago because I'm a fan of the series. But anyone curious, it's the best possible iteration of the Wonder Boy franchise of old.
Well the extra tier will be losing 32 titles but add 11, they should add knack 2 to make it an even dozen.
All I can recommend is to play Slay the Spire 😎
all these games are leaving in may including spiderman a sony 1st party game

1st party games should stay on the service indefinitely
I'll try Kena and Monster Boy (it's been on my wishlist for years)! I said only yesterday that there's no point buying something like Riders Republic as it will end up on Plus at some point, being a Ubisoft game. It's OK. It's fairly cringey but it's a mix between Steep and The Crew 2 so it's enjoyable enough.
Sneaky Microsoft.
Letting Minecraft Dungeons to PS Plus Essentials last month and bunch of Bethesda games this month is pretty much their ploy to show regulators that they are supporting competing sub services.
Quality month, though no time for them all.
Kena, wolfenstein, evil within, doom eternal...
Was doom eternal the one that needs dlc to make sense / make it complete / make it good?
Pretty sure Wolfenstein 2 is on sale at the moment which seems pretty cheeky since it'll be free to subscribers in a bit.
Just bought Kena & Monster Boy yesterday! (The discounted prices were good).
Anyway, I'm glad that I support the developers of these games.
As for DOOM... I have it on Xbox & Steam, but the more DOOM everywhere the better!
@Godot25 yes loads of bethesda games goin on the service is a good look for Microsoft but sony dont have to agree to it. they are paying Microsoft to put these games on and therefore paying Microsoft to look good
Very impressive lineup, but unfortunately I already own most of the games!
Anyone else noticed the PS3 streaming games have gone off the PS Plus Premium section on the PS5? I was looking for Batman Arkham Origins and it’s gone.
Doooom...Dooom 2...Eteeernaaal Dooom
