Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone is halting development on the excellent-looking Haunted Chocolatier to get back on the tools for Stardew Valley, beginning construction on the all-consuming farm-and-life management sim's 1.6 update. This update will largely make life easier for the modding community on PC, but new game content has been promised as well, which is a nice treat for those of us on console.
Barone is one of those frustratingly talented individuals who are seemingly capable of excelling at everything they turn their hand to. Famously, he won the respect and admiration of gamers of all stripes by creating Stardew Valley, a stone-cold modern classic and arguably one of the best games ever made, almost entirely on his own.
He worked as sole designer, programmer, animator, artist, composer, and writer on the project. This effort only took him four and a half years, working 10 hours a day and seven days a week. Barone was handsomely rewarded for his hard work; at last count, Stardew Valley has shipped more than 20 million copies across all platforms, and the benefit of not having any partners is you don't need to split the proceeds. We prefer our sleep, honestly, and will likely never be millionaires because of that fact, but we digress.

This doesn't bother me one bit. Haunted Chocolatier already looks incredible in its early state, and I want Eric Barone to take as much time as possible to tweak and refine it at a comfortable pace. If that means temporarily halting development to go back to (the excellent) Stardew Valley, then so be it.
Can you play on other friends worlds between PlayStation 4&5 yet? Yet as in being that I last tried 2 years ago or so ha.
Without context, that headline looks like it was made with a random word generator.
Man, that’s a little misleading. Halting development sounds final, pausing development is more accurate.
I've put more hours into Stardew Valley than any other game I've had, ever.
@nessisonett
"noun
a suspension of movement or activity, typically a temporary one.
"a halt in production"
Hey maybe he'll never come back to HC though, didn't he say he was completely done with Stardew or am I wrong?
@kyleforrester87 This is being used as a verb though, Eric Barone is halting development, not that there is a halt in development, which is a noun like what you’re suggesting.
“verb
bring or come to an abrupt stop.
"there is growing pressure to halt the bloodshed"
Obviously being incredibly pedantic though. Just stood out to me.
@nessisonett I know, I know
@kyleforrester87 I like to think that the traffic generated by a minor squabble about grammar has given the staff here a 1p bonus.
@nessisonett Speak for yourself, I don't see adverts anymore!
Wow reading this title I thought he was canceling HC.
