Originally released as an early access title on PC last year, Achilles: Legends Untold has now been confirmed for a PS5 and PS4 release later this year. We don't have a specific date yet, but developer Dark Point Games is targeting Q3.
Achilles is a gritty action RPG based on Greek mythology and history, blending an isometric perspective with demanding, precise combat. You can develop the titular hero however you like, equipping him with a range of weapons and abilities. The game's console launch will also see the implementation of co-op.
It's had largely positive feedback on Steam, so it could be one to watch if you're a fan of the genre.
In fact, the console version promises loads of improvements over its current incarnation. Dark Point Games highlights a revised story, new items, equipment, maps, and even an overhauled character progression system.

This was not on my radar before, but it is now! Stoked to have something else on a smaller scare to try out. I am always looking for something to get me back into the world of Greek Mythology beyond the stuff I read and teach, especially since Odyssey started me on that journey, but it was too big for my time.
I can't believe it's taken this long for someone to make a game based on Achilles.
@ShogunRok first thing that came to mind as soon as I read the title.
@naruball The only example I can think of is Achilles being a main playable character in Warriors: Legends of Troy (which was like a Greek Dynasty Warriors spinoff on the PS3).
Just seems like such untapped potential.
@ShogunRok Yeah, I remember that one being announced way back, but because it was a Dynasty Warriors spinoff, I never gave it a try.
@ShogunRok I thought that might not be true so I googled "videogames with Achilles in" and... this article was the first result. That is quite weird.
It looks like they've taken many artistical liberties with the characters, story and setting but hey it looks nice from what I've seen and I want to explore this interpretation of the ancient Greek world so I'm interested. Literally, the only Greek myth adaptation faithful to its source material is Jason and the argonauts which is a 60 year old movie.
This looks ok but it looks quite similar to titan quest (really good arpg) so i'll maybe wait for a sale because lets face it once diablo 4 lands arpg's are really going to struggle to get you to choose them instead.
