There's no way that at least the face plate doesn't come West. It's not exactly gonna contribute to tue chip shortage to send some plastic our way. Might be a nice stream/showcase announcement to say they are available worldwide on Playstation Direct.

The plates are far too plain for my liking. They could have at least tried another color if they're were going to go that route of just slapping a basic picture on it. I'll just keep my galactic purple.

@nomither6 what’s up with that? The color buttons on the white controller would look outstanding. Then again Xbox controller get’s knocked for having colored buttons on the stock and praised for not on the elite, so is Sony and fans thinking clear is more premium?

I have the Sony branded black digital plates for PS5, just cause she’s fat and needs to be in black to look a little better, PS5 has bad curves. Can’t wait for the slim and Pro. Anything has to be better. These don’t do it for me. Then again i am hardly a FF fan these days.

@Green-Bandit i think it’s a reverse psychology thing. colored buttons should be a default though in my opinion, especially in sonys case where they use their buttons as an icon of PS and make merch of it .

@nomither6 I totally agree with. I would love to see the colored buttons at least standard on the white stock controller. At least give us a grey PlayStation controller with the colored buttons. I would buy as many of those as i could find. I want grey PS1 colored plates.

@Green-Bandit they have custom gray ps5 plates on amazon with the colored PS logo too ! even controller skins i believe , i ironically just never cared enough to buy it

@nomither6 didn’t know that, thanks for telling me. I’ll give it a look. Sony is hardcore on making money these day’s. The creative side has kind of in some ways taken a back seat. Me and my wife just bought a new house, we have lived in it all of two days. I finally got a media/game room upstairs. The colors of the house is light grey’s blue and white. So i might do a wood stand and might change my PS5 back to stock white. Just wish the Xbox Series X came in white. I could buy a skin and new controller. Side rant over, but yes you are spot on, Sony should have colors on the buttons. Would look really cool, even tho the controller hurts my hand after 30 mins and the layout stinks for me.

I want that controller but I can see this as square trying to get in the good Grace's of Japanese folk since they've fallen out of favor over the last few years

@Green-Bandit nice , enjoy the new house . and if it’s feasible , i’d suggest to make the game room have a retro theme to it ? would be dope to get some custom skins on modern gaming devices that represent the classics. do you have the xbox duke controller? that would be cool atleast as decoration if you don’t want to use it , especially as an xbox fan .

@nomither6 Thanks so much buddy, it’s been in the plans for years and finally happened. The new house is great, gotta love a new build, everything is brand new and the internet is lighting fast so i am blessed. Only 2500 square feet so still can’t blast the surround I obviously over paid for. But happy none the less and no i don’t have a Duke no more, i do have the original small xbox controller from Japan design, of course a ton of 360 controllers and many many Nintendo and PS controllers from the past. Still have my wavebird from GameCube and still love the fit and feel. I wish nintendo still made GameCubes, this would be GameCube 4. Great idea tho buddy, i for sure need to do something with the new media room. I have a Series X, PS5 and Switch so i can tie in all 3 brands somehow. Geek made designs are a awesome start.

Luckily neither design is very good. They seem like simple geometric patterns and seem to have no indication towards the game itself.

Now if it had been some of that beautiful logo art ( the pencil like drawings of characters) that would have been something, especially if it had
been on both sides of the console covers and covering the entire surface that would have been great...but these items don't. In fact they're a bit rubbish. Nothing to see here, move on.

To me the controller is just meh. Not ugly, but nothing special. I feel the same about the Zelda TotK controller.

Finally some damn official custom plates and they are only exclusive to Japan!?!? I'd buy both of these in a heartbeat

Did Sony ever end up releasing a black controller for PS5? White is always a TERRIBLE idea for peripherals. They just end up with sweaty gunk from the hands.
