Miles Morales is many things, a geek, a hero, and of course, your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, even getting his own time in the spotlight in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. He is also apparently a Devil May Cry fan and of the character Vergil, in particular. In a new variant cover for an upcoming issue of Miles Morales: Spider-Man #9, artist Mateus Manhanini depicts the character in an iconic pose:
The rabbit hole goes deep indeed over on ResetEra, where a theory that Miles might, in fact, be a secret Capcom fanboy gained some traction. Apparently, the energy sword thing is a recent development for the character in the comics, an evolution of Miles' "venom strike" ability, which we absolutely hope makes an appearance in the upcoming Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
What do you think of this Vergil homage? How awesome is Miles looking here? Summon a blade of pure hype made manifest in the comments section below.

DMC or Witcher? Either way, it's SICK!
Now that's pretty cool ๐ manifesting ur love of a game character into ur own reality and using it as a power that is peak fanboy ๐ right there in a good way ๐๐๐
Hmm Iโll add that variant to my sub. I just get standard covers. I canโt afford to be a collector.
Vergil DLC confirmed?
That would be freaking dope as hell if they added in his Energy Sword, even if it's DLC or a free update down the line.
