The Messenger developer Sabotage has shared an in-depth, lengthy look at its upcoming RPG Sea of Stars as part of a new Game Informer video. The outlet's coverage will go on for a while longer, but this latest slice of gameplay is easily our best look at the game yet besides its Nintendo Switch exclusive demo. Predominantly focusing on combat and a bit of exploration, the 16-bit inspired title looks the part for a PS5, PS4 release in late August 2023.
With Baldur's Gate 3 launching just two days later and then Starfield following only a week later for Xbox Series X|S and PC owners, the end of the summer looks set to be a great time for RPG lovers. Will you be playing all three? Let us know in the comments below.

The Messenger is a great game, so this is one I'll keep a look out for.
"Shovel Night" I wonder if that's a reference to something
Really looking forward to this.
@Loamy mix of Metroidvania genre and Ninja Gaiden that switches between 8 bit and 16 bit throughout.
Fluid gameplay, fantastic music and challenging yet rewarding platinum. Plus not to mention FREE dlc chapter that's as good as the main game.
I wasn't so fussed on this when I tried the demo on Switch earlier this year. Looks cool with some great animation, but some of the gameplay and presentation was too old skool for my liking.
Sea of stars remind me of octopath traveler 2.amazing pixel art old schol graphics.and this gameplay looks cool.word up son
Playstation demo when
so glad i backed this game a few years ago, looking amazing. demo was great as well
I played the demo on Switch the other day and I instantly fell in love with this game. I love everything about it. It takes all the best aspects of classic turn-based RPGs and refines everything into a shiny gem of a game. I was instantly sad when it ended, so I'm very much looking forward to release!
