Digital Eclipse’s pursuit of the greatest ever retro compilation continues with an update to TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection today, adding online play to the NES’ TMNT 3: The Manhattan Project. This had been previously promised by the developer, and will roll out as part of a patch available to download imminently on PS5 and PS4.
The update will also add some new bonus content to the Turtles’ Lair section, and bundle in a handful of bug fixes for good measure. If you’re still unsure whether to pick this package up, then you should – but if you need more convincing, check out our TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection PS5 review. (Spoilers: we loved it!)

This collection was my first time playing TMNT 3. Kinda hard, but I grew to like it. I appreciate that I can play this online too.
Fantastic. One of the best additions to Playstation functionality with PS4 has been share play. Due to that feature, I've been able to play these classics (all of the ones with couch co-op) online with my brother. We played the hell out of these as kids having grown up on these and Double Dragon. Looking forward to seeing what was added in the Lair.
I'm more interested in what was added to the Turtles Lair. Nice to see this still getting support, one of my favorite compilations of games ever.
Nintendo needs to take note and release retro compilations for their popular franchises including classic Mario, Zelda and Pokémon games.
