Users have taken to Twitter after finding a QR code hidden within the Marathon trailer released at PlayStation’s Showcase on Wednesday. This code led users to a website with a bunch of code and a login page. After some code cracking, users were able to login and recover some videos of an interview with the game’s director revealing more details on the upcoming title.
If you're interested then YouTuber Stylosa has a good video breakdown here:
Is Marathon on your wish list or is it too much of a Game as a Service for you to be bothered by it? Let us know in the comments below.

I’m certainly interested in this as I’m currently in love with Battlefields extraction mode.
It was a beautiful trailer I'll give it that. Prob give it a go as Bungie make tight gameplay
I'll reserve final judgement...I feel like Bungie still deserves the benefit of the doubt, they haven't had a major screwup yet.
The art direction is amazing.
I'll happily check out a beta if one pops up. Love the art style. Right up my alley.
Neither the trailer nor the Game description grabbed my interest at all. Of course its still 'early' and they have opportunities to try and win me over but right now, I can't see me playing this at all.
There are plenty of FPS games, plenty of 'Extraction' shooters, inc Free to Play options (like Warzone DMZ for example) and plenty more coming too so Bungie will face stiff competition. I do expect them to nail the FPS mechanics but we will what they will do to stand out from ALL the other FPS PvP games...
I was excited when I thought Bungie was finally returning to single player gaming, since Halo Reach (that was years ago now, but a great campaign)
Then somebody told me its a pvp extraction shooter and it just instantly killed my hype dead. It could be awesome, but these kind of games are just not for me, at all. Hope you all enjoy it as Bungie rarely miss
Really interested in this, Bungie (for all their faults) are best in class FPS devs and if this is a more condensed, more streamlined game then it could be amazing.
If anybody gets how to keep a game fun with regular content and great shooting mechanics it's Bungie. Never played the original Marathon games but I'm well aware of their history and impact.
Definitely the most pleasant surprise of the recent showcase for me.
I need to see more before I decide one way or another. I wish Bungie would just make a new classic arena shooter with a campaign (basically another Halo) but alas I don't think that's ever going to happen. Still Marathon could be cool, just don't know enough about it yet.
Far too much gaas for me. I’m not against it by any means but I do love my single player Sony stuff, it’s unbeatable
Can’t say how I feel about the game other than thinking it looked really pretty because there was no gameplay. Show me some gameplay and I’ll tell you whether it’s a pass or not.
I’ll be honest, I’ll at least try what Bungie does if it’s free to play. They make excellent FPS gameplay. Second to none, honestly. How long will I stick around though? Depends on how the game actually is, I suppose.
Bungie got TLOU2 Factions cancelled because they didn't see enough opportunities for microtransactions. I'm already living in a dystopian ARG.
@SoulChimera I do agree with you on this, at least
@VaultGuy415 it’s not canceled stop spreading misinformation.
After Bunjie were rumoured to not be happy with TLOU Factions, Marathon best not flop otherwise any credibility Bunjie has goes straight down the drain and Sony will find it hard to trust their judgement going forward.
I just wish they would return to a single player story. I remember the days of Halo, such great games they created.
I wonder if this will be a loan shark like Destiny. Or maybe they’ll tone it down to Used Car salesman level.
