Foamstars Is Square Enix's Answer to Splatoon on PS5, PS4

Seems like it a decent idea. Needs a lot more polish to capture my attention.

Bring back Power Stone!

This is gonna be F2P/GaaS and shut down within a year no matter how well it plays, isn't it?

If it's f2p I'll try it out. I haven't and will never pay for Splatoon much less a clone that somehow manages to look worse

This, like most every game in the showcase, had no HUD so it's hard to know what's going on, but it certainly looks like Splatoon. PSASBR looked like Smash but was total trash, so at least this might be better than that. If it isn't already it will be a mode in Fortnite soon. 🤷

Splatoon with Persona-like songs.

S-E's answer to Splatoon and Ninjala with a bit of Fortnite vibe.
I'm interested so I watch how this one goes, but knowing how S-E is, I will also be very wary.

Well, at least when Nintendo took some inspiration from the Jet Set Radio aesthetic for Splatoon it was a bit more subtle, this is borderline Splatoon plagiarism from SE. one of the worst trailers of yesterday’s show.

The only thing this game has me excited for is a nice bubble bath. They really dropped the soap with this title.

I'm a big big, high tier Splatoon player. Only online comp game I really play. But this.... Looked awful....

Square really needs to step it up in the mp scene, all of there mp games recently get shutdown fairly quickly.

I'm interested in this game, could be fun. I remember gamers making fun of Splatoon when it was announced for the wiiu, look how that turned out. I love Splatoon but I barely played S3 because of the network issues the game has, it's really annoying everyone gets kicked out of a game when it just started. This game has the potential to be really fun.

I'm curious enough so I'll give it a go. I played Splatoons quite a bit when it came out on the Wii U.

I was embarrassed for them with this one. Don't get me wrong it looks kind of cool but yeah, we've got Splatoon at home... Also, no doubt it's a live game and will be doa.

I like the idea of taking Splatoon, putting a new spin on it, and having it available on multiple platforms. But I have a feeling this will be like all the Smash clones out there. Lacking the charm and failing at getting the gameplay mechanics refined enough to even be a good "second place" title. Like that Warner Bros title.

I adore Splatoon (I'm rubbish though) but seeing this really annoyed me for some reason.

@sentiententity Brawlhalla seems like a nice Smash lite, and full cross-play is good as well. Hmm, now I want to try Shovel Knight Showdown and Rivals of Aether.

There's no escaping that Foamstars is inspired by Splatoon. When they talk about the game Splatoon will always be in the conversation. The first question that the director will be asked is "Is the game will take elements from Splatoon"
