One of the standout trailers from the PlayStation Showcase came courtesy of a newly announced PS5 title: Phantom Blade Zero. This is an action RPG — heavy emphasis on action — from Beijing-based developer S-GAME.
Admittedly, the reveal trailer does have a bit of that 'but is this actual gameplay?' aftertaste, but we'd be lying if we said it doesn't look fantastic. Here's hoping that it actually is the real deal, and we see more of it in the relatively near future.

Is it just me or the Chinese PlayStation trailers we see never come out? I recall seeing quite a few but no releases is this even going to come out?
This looks like a souls game, which is way out of my league, but damn this trailer was impressive. Kudos to the animators.
@MeerkatSimples This is basically the biggest worry. We've seen a lot of trailers like this over the last few years from relatively unknown studios based in China and South Korea. None of the games have actually released yet. Black Myth Wukong immediately springs to mind.
This was one of the few good things in the show. Great gameplay the art looks like a souls game but the gameplay looks a bit more like ghost of tsushima for me.
What’s the dude from DMC doing there?)
And yeah, it all looks like a fake.
@ShogunRok Isn't Black Myth Wukong hoping to launch this summer? I can understand the delay for that game given that it UE5, and we are only now starting to UE5 games release this summer.
Crappy cringe voices as usual, sigh.
So, no thoughts on the ridiculously horrid voice acting, especially the guy who says "this is a real face"? l know I've heard him in another game I've played and I can't believe they put that much effort into the graphics while using acting that was bad in the PS2 era.
@ShogunRok yep black myth has been in development for quite some time but the developer recently announced a summer 2024 release window, been waiting for that one for some time hopefully will deliver n.n
@LordBakemono @AverageGamer Oh really? Hopefully it happens, I'd love for it to finally release and be good.
This was the best looking thing there for me, just hope it can live up to that stunning trailer..
This is the standout game during the showcase for me. Even compared to Spider-Man 2's gameplay. Looking forward to playing this.
Trailer got me hyped, but not getting too excited since China Hero project games seem to be cursed with never releasing.
@ShogunRok @MeerkatSimples I definitely can relate to both of your feelings about these games.
Here's hoping they do eventually release and live up to the hype of their trailers.
It's cool to see someone incorporating Wuxia tropes into gameplay
@Exerion76 the guy's missing his heart, it's going to have Soulslike crap.
I'm wondering if the 66 days to live is a plot point or if this is also going to have a timer and/or roguelike elements.
Looks insanely good, hope this is the real gameplay and not just "expected graphicals quality".
@ThomasHL not every ARPG is a Soulslike
@JohntheRaptor what I'm saying is the trailer is throwing out some strong flags, including making the main character some half dead / half alive thing trying to reclaim their humanity. I.e. the concept of half of every Soulslike
@MeerkatSimples That's why I never hold too much hope for trailers of Asian-developed games that aren't Japanese in origin. They release these absolutely insane looking trailers, and then nothing ever emerges from it, or it turns out to be a mobile game, or whatever.
Wow, what a highlight IMO. Looks amazing. I wonder if it will be a hard game on the scale of a souls like.
@Jtheripper : The Chinese voice trailer is way better imo. Don't understand why Push Square didn't add it alongside the (laughable) English ver. as well.

@Coolmusic maybe its better yeah, but if the dialogue is same, it was also cringe.
