Well, you certainly can't say this game doesn't have style. Ultros is a new game, just announced for PS5 and PS4, from a new indie team called Hadoque. It's a 2D, exploration-based adventure that grabs your attention immediately with its vivid and unusual art style (which, by the way, is provided by Hotline Miami artist El Huervo).
Playing as Ouiji, you crash land on something called The Sarcophagus, where the titular evil entity is contained. Unfortunately for our heroine, she's caught in the time loop of a black hole while aboard this unusual place, and she'll need to search every nook and cranny to escape and find answers.
The loop plays into the gameplay, as you explore the setting in runs, gradually piecing together the puzzle as you explore and fend off threats. You'll unlock abilities on a permanent skill tree and can affect the environment across runs, so your progress will be felt across runs.
While it's primarily a platformer, there will be some melee combat in the mix, as seen in the trailer. However, when you're not beating up space bugs, you'll be restoring life to The Sarcophagus, manifesting plants and sowing seeds. These plants will have various gameplay implications, helping you learn new skills, complete puzzles, and defeat enemies.
We really like the look of Ultros, and can't wait to see what it's all about. Sadly it won't be with us until 2024, but hopefully it's worth the wait. Are you interested in this one? Tell us in the comments section below.

This has awesome visuals and was one of the most exciting things shown. Exclusive? I didn’t expect that
Definitely looks special. To my wishlist.
@KaijuKaiser What makes you think everyone is looking for AAA titles and what do you think this qualifies as? If that's all people were looking for then other games wouldn't sell.
Taking a few pages from Hollow Knight, are you? I'm in. 😁
This was the best announcement in the entire presentation.
@RenanKJ So that's why one of my friends jokingly mentioned Bison when this game was being revealed.
