Final Fantasy XIV players looking to save some Gil will want to take advantage of a new PS Plus bonus that went live on the PS Store earlier today. Available until 1st June 2023, active members can claim a free Aetheryte, which acts as a fast travel point for you in the game world. You will eventually need to renew it, but the first 30 days from activation are free.
This is the latest initiative to get more players on board with Final Fantasy XIV following a string of free expansion handouts and up to 96 hours of free game time to play the MMO. In addition, today's patch 6.4 introduces new main quests, a dungeon, and more trials and side missions.
Will you be grabbing the neat little bonus via PS Plus? Let us know in the comments below.

I've always been tempted to start playing FF XIV, so this is great. It's just a very inopportune time since I'm neck-deep into Tears of the Kingdom and will be for the next 3 weeks I reckon.
Great, it's actually useful. I only return to FF14 every couple of years when an expansion comes out, and sub for a month or so to play through the single player story.
Last time I ran into the whole Asmongold train and barely got to log in for 6.0, so this encourages me to return and continue before 7.0 arrives. Is 6.4 a good time to return though?
@bkeswick yes it only one more patch before 7.0 come out next year
I have more money than the US economy (in game). So will definitely be taking advantage of this bonus!
So after that fast travel is basically a paid subscription? That’s pretty disgusting.
Free fast travel 🤦 fast travel is included in game.
@FenIsMightier I think it's a sort of MMO version of "Playstation exclusive"
@awp69 Not at all. It’s just a location you can teleport to without cost. You can already get one of these by adding two factor authentication to your FF14 account, this is just a second one you get as a bonus for having PS Plus.
No disgust involved. It’s just a bonus.
Well its not free as playstation plus is a paid subscription service
@KaijuKaiser You can start doing things mostly single-player now like story dungeons and such without the need for people, but it will not convert into a single-player game.
@KaijuKaiser You don’t really need to. Play at your own pace with the free trial, very few things require you to be with other players if you really can’t find like 20 minutes on your own.
@jolteon23 And after you finally beat that, FF16 will be conveniently dropping on June 22.
@KidRyan And that's exactly what I'm aiming for! Hope I can neatly wrap up ToTK before then.
@jolteon23 Best of luck to you! Meanwhile I'm gonna try to beat Hogwarts Legacy by end of June.
July will be dedicated to Horizon: Forbidden West and Burning Shores. August will be Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and Tchia.
I should finally be playing FF16 around September, which will benefit me from the inevitable patches released.
@KidRyan Thanks!
I see you got a great summer of gaming planned ahead of you. Happy gaming!
@jolteon23 Definitely plan to anyways haha! I'm gonna be busy with some real life trips soon, so that schedule may not be accurate.
