Ys X: Nordics now has a confirmed release date in Japan. The action RPG launches on the 28th September for both PS5 and PS4 — and that gives us some idea as to when Adol's latest adventure could sail overseas to Western territories.
These days, all of Falcom's games are published by NIS America here in the West, but the localisation backlog is still a problem. It takes a long time to localise the Trails titles, for example, thanks to their gigantic scripts, and for reference, it took NIS America over a year to launch the previous Ys game, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox.
That said, the publisher has clearly been upping its efforts, as evidenced by the fact it's on course to release three Trails titles in 2023. As such, we'd be willing to bet that Ys X will target a 2024 launch in the West. With Kuro no Kiseki also pencilled in for 2024 — we'd assume — it could be a big year for Western Falcom fans.

Definitely going to get this game. Hopefully the localisation will be fast.
Been very interested in the Ys series, but have yet to actually try any of them. From what I understand the stories are all pretty independent from game to game, so maybe X will be a good place to start for me? Or maybe VIII or IX will go on sale leading up to X's release and I can start with one of them
Probably mid-2024, then. I'm cool with that. I have WAY too much to play this year as is.
But yes, very excited for a new mainline Ys!
@MonkeyNinja506 Ys VIII is masterful. One of my favorite games from last gen. Absolutely recommend.
And yes, while the games all take place in a consistent world, the stories are largely independent. The only real exception to this AFAIK is that Ys I & II are directly connected, so you'd want to play those in order.
@MonkeyNinja506
Fully agree with Ralizah give VIII a go. In my opinion its probaly the best JRPG on PS4.
I will play IX sometime in the future, so X can wait. No problem.
Going to be 2025 I'm afraid. Most Ys games take two years to localise
@Mauzuri agreed IX is vastly inferior to VIII. This looks a return to form
My body is ready
Tempted to buy a copy when I go Japan as it comes out during the 2nd half of my trip lol
Will be getting this! Loved ys viii and ix! Excited to see what they add to the mix this time round.
@bindiana @Ralizah Cool! I'll be keeping an eye out for a sale on VIII then!
@MonkeyNinja506 Play VIII, you will not regret it!
@AndyKazama Hopefully that delay between Japan and USA will shrink over time.
