Geoff Keighley's annual gaming event Summer Game Fest is set to kick off very soon, and it looks like it'll be a long one. Going live on 8th June, we now know how long to expect the big showcase to last.
As is nearly always the case, Keighley's presentation is set to be pretty lengthy. According to the official website's schedule, Summer Game Fest starts at 8pm BST / 3pm EDT / 12pm PDT, and Day of the Devs — an indie-focused presentation that follows immediately after — begins at 10pm BST / 5pm EDT / 2pm PDT. In other words, the main show will be roughly two hours long.
This is par for the course with events like this, but we wouldn't expect Keighley to pack those two hours with trailers. As he's already said, there will be a handful of big, important announcements, but part of the running order will be brief interviews with developers and other stopgaps between the trailers and videos to let some of the news sink in.
Of course, we'll be hosting the live feed as always right here on Push Square, so get some snacks in for next week and join us, won't you? Are you excited for Summer Game Fest? Tell us in the comments section below.

I hope that one day we will be able to watch live events at 2x speed
I hope people go easy on Geoff, you have to respect the guy keeping these kind of shows alive especially after what's happened to E3, plus you can't deny the guys passion for gaming. I've seen a few shows of his and interviews and his happiness at seeing these news games is genuine.
So i say roll on the 8th June, I will be watching it 👍, Also keen to see what playstation are going to show off and I'm hoping to see some more slitterhead.
DS2 has to right as it wasn't at sonys.
I do miss the crazy announcements all at e3 when it was good instead of who knows what will be revealed on what smaller event.
@Stormageddon The ads are what's funding his shows, without them there would be no Summer Games Fest, it's the same as watching certain TV shows and certain You tubers, without the Ads revenue they wouldn't exist.
It would be cool though if gaming developers and publishers put some money together to fund his future shows so they wouldn't needs ads
I think Keighley is starting to realise that he will soon find himself in a similar position as E3 unless he changes things up.
He’s been doing the rounds lately, which is a bit weird when it’s your platform & people should be flocking to you for a spot on the show.
I mean how many separate summer live streams are there at this point? Yakuza, Destiny, Guerilla Collective, … .
If he’s not careful SGF will turn into an indie showcase (nothing wrong with that) & that’s what the majority don’t want to see.
At least he’ll have TGA’s.
Love Geoff tbh
We'll see what happens. Hoping to see the likes of Mass Effect 5, Instinction, Tomb Raider, Dino Crisis reboot/remake, etc. I won't hold my breath.
So any guesses on what PlayStation is going to show? Most likely it's ds2.
Makes sense to just watch it after it's uploaded to Youtube and skip through all the boring parts.
I just want a new bioshock game please , maybe more info on the new assassins creed games, splinter cell remake trailer.
@Americansamurai1 I’d be very surprised if it’s anything more than a CGI trailer for DS2.
He said they’ll be 3-4 big announcements https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2023/05/summer-game-fest-will-feature-3-or-4-pretty-big-announcements-says-geoff-keighley . I think PlayStation will have a minimal presence there unless they’re announcing a Demon Souls PC port.
Besides Death Stranding 2, I'm thinking Sony MAYBE will have one more thing. What it is, I'm not sure. Maybe it'll be the Spider-Man 2 release date or some like that?
Really looking forward to it. Hopefully he has a good show lined up.
2 hours, that'll be a lot of filler. There should at least be some exciting announcements in it hopefully.
Thought that was official promo art for the event at first. Nice, I thought.
KCD 2 😭 Every year we want just a hint. THQ have their own summer show too though, meaning there is now two chances for live action Henry riding onto a stage on a horse. I'd just rather see it on a show that also has Kojima in a submarine via Skype, and maybe Vin Diesel trying to speak words for no reason.
Predictions? Michael Keaton, dressed as Batman, promoting stuff.
A really awkward joke about Sony, Microsoft and Activision.
To be surprised at least once
Sony had their show and screwed the pooch. None of you should be expecting anything from Sony that wasn't already shown at their own show. It would make zero sense for them to hold something back, weakening their own show, just to turn around two weeks later to reveal it, strengthening Jeff's show.
That would make zero logical sense.
@kyleforrester87 It is official art for the show, I just mounted a Geoff clock on it
@Quintumply I need to sit down for a minute
No BST time? It's not on there times.
@Triumph741 so you're essentially awaiting the invention of time travel?
It's Geoff time!
It's more tolerable than a 3 or 4 hour show, so there is that aspect.
@Grimwood He said 3-4 big announcements meaning new reveals of some AAA games we haven't seen yet. There will still be loads of other new games shown just smaller AA and indie titles.
I'm ready to get hurt again.
I love the E3 live stage shows. I should like Geoff's shows, but...I just....don't. It just doesn't have the energy of the publishers themselves promoting their wares, it's still just kind of a series of youtube trailers except with a live commentator between. IDK what the secret formula is, but it just needs that energy of people excited to promote their own product rather than an independent commentator linking together videos to get the magic back.
In an era where each series gets its own "direct", IDK there's any way to get the buzz back.
@UltimateOtaku91 well, if it's 3-4 big ones, that usually means sequels or something based on an established IP. We might see more AAA games than that, but new titles.
@Stormageddon aren't all trailers essentially ads?
@Snake_V5 7pm GMT
How many times are we gonna see "World Premiere"?
I will not watch again.
My instinct told me to not watching the whole trailer.
I will wait from PushSquare already made an article about the games announced from the showcase so I can scoop out which upcoming kids games revealed.
I only need the information about upcoming kids games since I only play kids games.
I always start the stream an hour later, then I can just skip all the stuff that doesn't interest me <3
Done watching live events. Will just catch up on the announcements and trailers after.
Translation: I will just not watch the event and just watch all the trailers on youtube afterwards
@Panic_Attache Thanks.
Hopefully he can make up for the crap announcements from Sonys showcase.
I really don't get why some people seem to hate on Geoff so much. If you don't like it don't watch it but I for one appreciate him and his team trying to put something fun together. If it's the ads that put you off I certainly hope you don't watch any sporting events!
I for one will be looking forward to it personally.
Can't wait to be disapointed again
British website and you don't put our time in the article now I have to go work it out. Cheers hahahaha
Oh my, is it Geoff O'Clock already?
Dorks, nerds and dweebs.
Can someone explain Day of the Devs?
Can't wait for disappointment, lol.
It won't be a lot. I can't imagine so, anyway. There'll be maybe two or three very big games that see some tepid reception, and perhaps a handful of indies, ports, remasters, and some accessories / peripherals. The rest of the show will be conversations with devs.
"Hypers gonna HYPE!"
Hopefully not 90% space horror this year
@Stormageddon Don't forget the cringe-inducing musical performances.
@Triumph741 surely AI could do that for us
@Korgon @EchoRange @UltimateOtaku91 @KaijuKaiser Geoff HYPE time! I always have a fun time watching his livestreams with some online friends.
Regardless of what is shown off here, I expect my group to have a grand ol' time together.
@twitchtvpat Anything Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell related will probably be saved for the Ubisoft Forward happening on June 12th.
@SillyBoyJudas Day of the Devs is a Indie exclusive showcase. Do not expect any AAA or even AA games to be shown off here.
