There aren’t anywhere near enough racing RPGs, but Resistor looks set to fill the void on PS5 in the future. While there’s no release date just yet, the release has been inspired by the likes of Speed Racer and Redline, and its gameplay is channelling old-school Burnout and SSX. Okay, you certainly have our attention!

“A turbocharged narrative-driven adventure RPG featuring open-world exploration, stunt-infused racing, and explosive vehicular combat,” the press release reads. “Build up your team and unravel a twisting story as you compete to take down an oppressive mega-corporation and its enigmatic director.”

The game sounds unbelievably ambitious, to be honest: it’s promising a heavily stylised open world which will house a mammoth story. You’ll need to recruit teammates to race alongside you, and as your relationships and bonds develop you’ll unlock bonuses to utilise in races. This certainly sounds like one to keep an eye on, doesn’t it?
