Announced last year, Under the Waves has just received a release date on PS5 and PS4. Published by Quantic Dream and developed by Parallel Studio, this underwater adventure will make a splash on 29th August, 2023.
It follows professional diver Stan, who takes on a solo mission at the bottom of the North Sea. Set in an alternative 1970s, the game is a narrative-focused adventure with dramatic themes, with the character's grief manifesting as strange occurrences in his watery surroundings. It looks like there will be a mix of gameplay with Stan going about his work as well as dealing with strange stuff in the dark depths.
We're certainly intrigued to see how the story plays out, but what you do make of Under the Waves? Dive into the comments section below.

Haven't saw anything but quantic dreams has me buying it day one
Looks really good and different.
I'm definitely going to pick this one up. Especially if quantic dreams saw something in it.
I'm looking forward to what exactly quantic dreams has got cooking though. I know its stay wars based but nothing else.
Definitely looks intriguing and that it should fit nicely with Quantic Dream's catalog as a developer. I may or may not get it at launch (depends on what else comes out around then), but hopefully it turns out to be good.
This one actually looked interesting. I'll keep my eye for a discounted physical edition later down the road.
This genuinely caught my eye. Right now, August is sort of an open slate, but there’s a lot of “Hmmm… maybe games,” but I love Quantic Dream.
My #1 highlight of SGF. Everything about this game looks right up my alley.
This one stood out to me. Different and intriguing.
Day 1, was my most anticipated game for 2023
Definitely interested in this, Quantic Dreams make some brilliant games. Detroit is definitely one of my favourites.
Trailer looks good. Disappointed in the M rating. Seems like more developers/publishers are including M content, which I would think could potentially limit sales. But I know that GoWR and Eldin Ring sold plenty, so maybe not.
Always loved the forboding atmosphere of an underwater setting and this one looks like it could be something special. Fingers crossed for August.
Bought this and loving all aspects so far. Some minor camera oddities going on, but I'm sure those will get ironed out. Not a deal breaker though.
Lovely visuals, narration and story and music. For this price very happy so far.
