Looks like we may be getting a Payday 3 release date at Summer Game Fest or any of its adjacent events, assuming the timing of an apparent leak is to be believed. A 21st September launch date was surfaced by notorious Microsoft Store scraper Aggiornamenti Lumia, suggesting some kind of announcement may be imminent – either during host Geoff Keighley’s showcase or any of the other events scheduled for the coming week.
The co-op shooter sequel was announced a few years back, but was pegged for 2023 some time ago. It’ll apparently be set in a “living, enormous representation” of New York City, and will take place several years after the events of predecessor Payday 2. The release will see the original gang dragged out of retirement, in a new world impeded by “cryptocurrencies, mass surveillance, and the Dark Web”. Sounds pretty cool – we’re assuming more will be announced this week.

PS4. Huh, that’s a surprise.
First we have Rockay City and now Payday 3. Wow, GOTY contenders right there and we're not through the first half of this year yet
As long as it doesn’t look like a PS3 game i’ll be happy.
Friends and I play pd2 still sometimes so definitely will be getting this.
I just hope it doesn't feel clunky or at the very least, shorten the time it takes the drills to open safes!!!
@RawnDawn It's supposed to take a long time for drills and make a build that shortens it.
@JONOFTHEJONS We're gonna keep getting cross-gen releases for major games until sometime in 2024 I wager.
Not everyone has upgraded to a PS5 yet.
@Nepp67 Oh for sure, I think the shortest was 45 seconds right? Still, since we suck, it'll be nice if they go by faster hahaha
Skill issue I know 😆 😂
