It's a belated WAYP this week, but we've made it before the weekend's really started, so there's no need to panic. Here's everything that's keeping us busy right now.

After finally catching up on some not-E3 E3 reveals, I'm fully hyped up for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, which had me thinking it might finally be time to beat the main story. So with it redownloaded it's time to take a trip back to Night City.
Sammy Barker
I've got a bunch of little odds and ends that will be occupying my time this weekend. Among them, I'll be clearing out the new GTA Online update and finally running my delayed review for Super Mega Baseball 4.
Scott McCrae
I can't talk about what I'm playing this weekend! But I'll probably also get a lot of Street Fighter 6 in knowing me!
Stephen Tailby
After patiently waiting for Rogue Legacy 2 to arrive on PlayStation since it went into early access back in 2020, my time has finally come. I'll be checking it out this weekend ahead of review.
A short and sweet selection of responses in this admittedly tardy WAYP, then. What are you playing this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.

Playing final fantasy 16 demo, the story is amazing, can't wait to find where the story goes, the graphics are great, the 5.1 surround sound is really good and the music is soo good. After playing the demo, I'm definitely buying this one day one 😃
My only problem with the demo is the save file didn't have timer counter, come on square, what kind of rpg didn't have that, there's no greater feeling in rpg games than loading a 50+ hours save 😂
Update: Don't play the eikon challenge mode, there's story spoiler in the beginning since its setting is in the later part of the game. I don't know why square put this in the demo, they should at least cut the (spoiler) text and cut-scenes.
Welp I'm recovering from a fever 🤒 but I'll be playing the FFXVI demo again and some Octopath Traveler 2 waiting patiently for Thursday 😋
HAPPY GAMING Y'ALL
Zelda
Final Fantasy XVI Demo
Saints Row 🤪
Ea sports Pga tour , slay the spire, and a little dark souls 3
@3Above Hope you feel better soon!
@get2sammyb Thank you!! I have 5 days off for XVI's launch so I be alright eventually.
Diablo IV and TotK still.
I was lying to myself thinking I'd finish them before FF XVI arrives.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint 🙂
With Rogue Legacy 2 finally coming to PS5, I’m waiting patiently for that. In the meantime? I’ll be checking out the Final Fantasy XVI demo and playing more Tears of the Kingdom on Switch.
Finished playing We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie, such a bizarre game I love it and only hope Bandai Namco will make a new one in the future. Now I might play Yakuza Like A Dragon for a bit as I'm interested in finishing that before the next game comes out in early 2024. Might even turn on my Switch and play something random there. Honestly I'm just waiting for FFXVI now after playing that demo and I'm probably won't be doing much until Thursday because of it
Getting the hang of Sekiro, FromSoft just does a great job of making you feel it's impossible at the beginning of their games, but later, you realize oh it's possible. But damn still, it's hard. Still satisfying Eivor's wanderlust in a Wanderlust themed ship in the beautiful and fantastic AC Valhalla. Then it'd be a bit of ER, BB and whatever else.
I will finish the beautiful The Artful Escape to give room for Rogue Legacy 2. I will try to get those last 2 pesky trophies in Jedi Survivor. I will choose too between more The Witcher 3, my confort game, or more of "The Hidden Ones" DLC of Assassin's Creed Origins. Let's march!
CoD MW 2 - finished the campaign. Pretty good, didnt enjoy it as much as MW but still good blockbuster action fun.
Zelda the Minish Cap - never played this and after a couple of hours Im enjoying it a lot. Good old school Zelda 😍 and, when Im finished with it its time to start Tears of the Kingdom!
I've just picked up my brand new Series X from Argos in preparation for Starfield in a few months. I'll be playing the free trial of PGA Tour this weekend on it. Mostly playing Diablo IV on my PS5, though. Level 40 and just started Act 2.
Im playing one of the best games ever in the amazing divinity original sin enhanced edition.and another one of the best games ever made in the excellent ni no kuni wrath of the white witch remastered.watching legendary retro tv 📺 sitcoms comedy shows in Sanford and son and saved by the bell.word up son
Is it Diablo? Of course it's Diablo.
I'll try and make some room for PGA Tour and the final two story missions of Jedi Survivor. We will see!
I've just hit level 50 in Diablo IV, so I'm hitting the Paragon Levels and continuing Act III. I'll play some more Splatoon 3 on the Switch as well.
I have just started Prodeus on PS5, brilliant Doom like game, gun play feels great.
Happy gaming everyone!
@ApostateMage I'm hedging my bets on Starfield and will stream it through my TV first, instead of pulling the trigger on an X. If the exclusives start to deliver regularly however, I'll go down that route.
I went back to Hogwarts just to attempt the final boss again but having failing again I think I'm done.Brilliant game and put over 60 hours into it but I don't have the patience anymore to keep at bosses like I used to.
Most of my time then will be on Crisis Core and Zelda TOTK.
I'm also considering trying Like A Dragon...I played the first three Yakuza games but I kind of got burnt out but I really fancy trying the later one..
@3Above Get better soon buddy.
Diablo IV mostly. Hoping to at least finish the campaign before Final Fantasy XVI is out.
Far cry 6 on PlayStation 5
Hollow Knight! Never thought I’d enjoy this one so much.
Street Fighter 6 on the Series X but will throw in a little bit of WWE 2K23 on PS5.
This weekend I’m playing Diablo 4. This game is an absolute blast. I convinced my best friend to buy the game, and now he can’t put it down. This is the first time in years that we have played a game cooperatively, whether with each other or someone else. It’s been really fun, too. We have just reached Act II, as we take our time and do everything we possibly can before venturing off into the main quest.
I chose the Barbarian class. I’m currently working on a crowd control build, and let me tell you - it’s absolutely sensational. My best friend is also playing as a Barbarian, and it’s interesting to see how drastic our builds are; it’s almost as if we are two different classes altogether.
With all of that said - I do have a secondary character that is a Rogue, and I’ll occasionally use him to play cooperatively. This is primarily due to having somewhat of a variety when playing together.
I also find the (side) quests to be fantastic. One in particular stood out titled Malady of the Soul. It turns out to be a lengthy 3-parter that has a good narrative with memorable characters. Another quest that is unforgettable for me is called “Cries of Innocence” (Black Asylum). It is a very twisted story involving a father and son, and it has left a lasting impression.
Overall, the grind and addiction is real. The dopamine I receive from this game is on another level. I can’t wait to play more once I’m off work tonight.
I’m still fully absorbed in the world of Ys Monstrum Nox, just trying to gain access to all areas and hunting chests. I’ve also downloaded unpacking for some light relief to chill out to whilst catching up on a podcast or two.
Played both Final Fantasy XVI demo and Lies Of P both awesome. Recieved Hogwarts Legacy so started that and almost finished Resident Evil 4 and Dead Island 2
I've had it sitting in my library for over a month, but I'm finally getting around to playing Humanity on PS5. Something in my gut told me to buy it when it came out, and now that I've had a chance to play it for a few hours, I'm glad I did. This is a really good puzzle game and it never fails to put a smile on my face when I figure out how to get all the gold people in a level. So good.
I'm also close to reaching the final story mission in Tears of the Kingdom, but I don't want the experience to end. I love this game so much that I want to savor it for as long as I can. But with FFXVI looming on the horizon, I know I'll just have to suck it up and finish TotK's main story at least.
I'm replaying "Indiana Jones and The Emporer's Tomb" as part of my pre "Dial of Destiny" Indy binge. It's much harder than I remember it being!
The Wolf Among Us (Vita) - Starting Episode 2 this weekend. I forgot how awesome this game is!
Imperia Online (Windows Phone) - Also still plodding along with this as well.
For Father’s Day, maybe I’ll have a demo day or attempt to get TotK to wrap that up before FF16
Well got back from a weekend stag in magalouf on monday, so been recovering since then 41 is too old to be partying like ur still 21, but we did lol, had a blast though but been paying for it all week.
So i re downloaded breath of wild earlier so going to give that another shot this weekend see if i can get into it this time. Ps5 probably play some more dredge, might also download the ff demo if im in mood. Other than that still recovering haha luckily i booked the week off so have been chilling not much gaming, but finally feel normal again 39 on a stag was crazy.
@Wazeddie22 just knock the difficulty down a level rather than give up
Too hot for VR, but too young to die.
I'm in a lull after Evil within 2. I'll play Bramble and Marsupilami until I get FF16 (never liked FF games before but God that demo is gooood, made me want to buy it)
@Daleaf I'm 41 and rejected my brother in law's stag later this year as I know I'm too old for it lol
Well until you fall was recently given a free PSVR2 upgrade. Might play that. Got the original free with Plus I think. Got Cave Digger VR free too (is that free for everyone or did they make a mistake, they said only the upgrade should be free?). Maybe that.
But then I’m still working through The Last Clockwinder, and Moss 2…
And I’m trying to resist buying Zombieland Headshot Fever for some arcade fun…
@rusty82
That’s funny, I’m 40 and rejected my own brothers stag do for the same reason. Much rather sit in a VR headset than interact with drunk idiots personally lol.
Going back to first CoD: Black Ops then I want to try Amnesia: The Bunker.
A week after starting and I am throughly addicted to Marvel: Midnight Suns. I can see why the Abbey sections aren’t for everyone-they are long, and the dialogue can be pretty cringe. But as a comics nerd who always enjoyed the “checking in with your crew” parts of Mass Effect, I am finding a lot to like there.
And the combat system is fantastic. Like many I was worried about melding a card system with regular Firaxis turn based, but the system is incredibly fun. And throwing goons through exploding barrels, hitting them with random crates, and dropping them into portals to Hell (!!) never gets old.
Isn’t it wonderful when you pick up a game that looks interesting and it turns out to be GREAT? Father’s Day tomorrow, so there will be lots of time with Midnight Suns guilt free! 😃
@rusty82 haha, think i should have done the same, although did see ppl i hadnt in years so was good, dont think magalouf was the best place for 41 yr old though but we partied like we were still in pur 20s lol
@Wazeddie22 Thank you!!
Keep playing Tears of the Kingdom, I think I'm getting close to the end of the game now. Splatoon 3 as well, like usual
I also want to try the Lies of P and AntonBlast demos.
This weekend I'll pretend playing Starfield which isn't out yet, on my Xbox which I don't have yet, with my LE Starfield controller that arrived in the mail yesterday... Woops! Didn't realise the controller was already coming out this June .
Seriously, though, I just finished the fantastic FF XVI demo. Now I'm skipping between SF6 and Zelda, and I just started a new playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077, still one of my favourite games of all time, no matter what state it was released in.
Enjoy the weekend, all!
Pga road to the masters (surprise,surprise) and i'm watching the us open on sky sports as well..rooting for fowler as he's a great guy and its good to see him back in form. @3Above get well soon 👍
@Link41x Love the Wolf Among Us, hope the second lives up to the quality of the first!
I’ll be trying to finally finish off Like a dragon: yakuza: like a dragon after two years of starts and farts in an attempt to clear up some hard drive space for FF16
Going for the platinum in Killer Frequency
@Northern_munkey Thanks!!
@Mostik @thefourfoldroot1 the wolf among us was superb.
Just finished Zelda. I’m just waiting for Rogue Legacy 2 and FFXVI to come out. Last night I restarted my Returnal file to play through again. I might do some psvr2 this weekend!
@rusty82 I knocked the difficulty down already lol
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
I'm a few hours in and I'm highly enjoying it so far. It's a bit of a mess technically (bad camera panning and bad camera in general, rough framerate at times, and the graphics can look rough at times too), but all that is pretty much easy to overlook given how good the story and characters are. I look forward to playing the rest of the game that I somehow dismissed back when it originally came out on the PS3.
1. Diablo
2. f1 2023 (Canada GP weekend 🏁🏎️)
Done with Zelda and Jedi Survivor.
Waiting for FF16. Loved the Demo and really made me want more.
I can hardly breathe at the moment due to the pollen count where I live being so high. No chance of playing games at the moment but I’m going to give the new FF demo a go in the evening and maybe order KayakVR from the store. Tempted to buy Rouge Legacy 2 next week having read others in the comments.
Stay frosty, Marines
Chained echoes!!! Brilliant 👌
And also I can't believe no one on here talks about this game it's unbelievable.
Skyrim VR and Zelda TotK!
This weekend will be kinda simple when it comes to games. Some Metroid Prime on the Switch. I beat Fire Emblem Engage so Metroid is next up. I made it to the Phendrana Drifts and it’s incredibly pretty and honestly has made me fall in love with the game. As for the PlayStation it’s the new season of Fortnite with some pals and maybe some SF6? Otherwise probably some SpongeBob Cosmic Shake. Genuinely that gsmr is a sleeper hit of this year. I mean it all falls by the wayside when FFXVI comes out this week right hahahah. As for the anime you know it’s the usual Hell’s Paradise, Mashle, My Home Hero and Cafè Terrace. Have a good weekend everyone and happy gaming.
That is... well... too much obvious. Of course I'm playing Diablo 4. And that won't change for a few months...
Meanwhile I'm playing Immortals Fenix Rising on Switch, when PS5 isn't available.
Still loving Hogwarts, really surprised at Fidelity/Ray Tracing mode looks gorgeous and plays surprisingly well. Want to go back and finish off Survivors side quests, and I keep looking at Octopath 2 guiltily “I still love you”. Gonna have to wait for my summer holiday I think
Street Fighter 6 on both PS5 and Xbox Series X, once again. Hooked on the game to the point it's the only one I feel like playing right now, though I may try to work in some Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and RE 4 Remake.
Back on PS for 1st time since PS2. Finished Sackboy starting Horizon ZD on Plus. Always MLB The Show on GamePass. Finally able to get the Switch from my daughter for brief windows so back to TOTK now that she's close to done.
Final Fantasy 16.
I joke. I joke.
Got a projector for the living room for my bday and been playing fifa on 120" screen, it's mental 😁
@Gamer83 why you playing sf6 on both consoles?
Round 3 - FIGHT!
@Deljo
Capcom did pretty much everything I could've asked the company to do with the game so I decided to double dip.
Still on Diablo 4…and will be for some time to come I reckon…with a little bit of Army of Ruin thrown in for good measure!
@Northern_munkey I've finally got to the Masters itself on my first career playthrough and wow is that a tough course. With a few tour wins and a top 10 at The Players I thought I'd be competitive, but the cut is going to be a challenge. Such a good game.
@Marquez i'm half way through the korn ferry tour (pro settings,4 rounds). I've mostly been chipping away at the challenges to get the xp and coins and i play the daily tournaments. I'm not happy that the grind is so aggressive it's almost forcing you into spending real money and i'm still not very impressed with the soft 4k image and if i'm honest this game is nothing the ps4/pro couldnt handle. Its still a really good golf sim but it could easily have been so much more.
@Northern_munkey The main problem I have with the grind is how flat the XP is - it doesn't really matter how good the last round I played is, there's ~19k XP waiting for me at the end of it, regardless. Note that I've only played career mode so far and need to get into the daily and online options.
Image-wise it's pretty good for me, except for my avatar. Facially so weird...
More BOTW. I’ve reached Calamity Ganon, but I’m going to take a little more time exploring the world and “powering up”. It’s such a phenomenal game and reminds me of the magic and wonder felt experiencing Ocarina of Time on release.
I’ve also started TLOU Part 1. The improvement in fidelity is immediately noticeable, particularly on the character models and animations. Not sure if I will see it all the way through though, far too much in the backlog.
@Marquez dont get me wrong as the graphics are nice but compared to other games that run in 4k@30 fps the image is really soft. I'd expect pin sharp visuals especially from how hyped up the frost bite engine is supposed to perform. Yes i agree about the avatar and mine gurns away like he's been on a 24 hour bender with the happy mondays 🤣
@Northern_munkey Lucky him!
Just reached level 12 in Diablo iv
@Marquez 🤣
@Marquez love the potter avatar by the way..huge phoenix nights fan 👍
After a lifetime of hating roguelikes I somehow got sucked into Slay the Spire. Welp, I don't think I'll ever see the light of day again.
Other than that I'll have to grind out some dailies in Rayman Legends for the eventual platinum at some point and maybe I'll continue with my Torkented Souls or God of War playthroughs.
Just finished (yesterday) AC Origins, I think Odyssey is better. Started Ezio collection, much different but seems interesting even they are older games.
@Wazeddie22 I think I had it on Easy as read combat was tricky and I'm not a big RPG player but found it too easy in many parts.
I didn't have too many issues with the final boss. Should have maybe played it on medium but then might not have finished it in time for Resi 4 lol
Grinding…in Diablo IV, which I got as a Fathers Day present….and also grinding out the weeklies in D2. Happy Fathers Day!
@KilloWertz absolutely. An amazing forgotten game. The DLC is quite good too, an emotional journey.
Just finished Archaica the path of light. It's a good puzzle game, just a few hours. I am still playing Defend the rook and will be starting a new game soon. Rebel outlaw galaxy?
I just got the plat on trek to yomi. Great little game, really enjoyed it. Now its time for Diablo IV. Something tells me this will be my answer for many months to come! Got that "sure i have work tomorrow, but i could play a few more hours" thing going at the moment. Havnt had that with a game in some time.
I would buy an xbox if the activision deals goes through, just to play diablo V.
Love the series.
@Turion I knew there was DLC based on the main menu of the game. Wasn't sure what it was, but I may check it out then once I'm done with the main game (I only have two chapters left).
Overall, it's been great. It's a shame it has some major technical issues, but overall the game is still able to shine even with them. I know it will never happen, but it would be an amazing release if it would ever get a remake.
I didn't game at all last weekend sadly. I was gonna today but got distracted.
If I can make some time on Sunday or Tuesday, I definitely will though. Tchia probably.
