Nice, I'll pick one of these up in four or five years when they're around $100.

I have the 1TB of this and i like it.i only use my PS5 for exclusives so 1TB along with the 600ish the console comes with should be more than enough for me. Unless the 2TB get’s stupid cheap, then I’ll sell the 1TB and eat the difference. Overall happy with it and have had zero issues.

Who needs this much storage? You don't need 15 games installed on your console at once.

Or just delete games as you finish them.

@Ken_Kaniff i agree. I only have 2 or 3 installed at any time otherwise it takes me forever to decide what to play 🤣. The ps5 storage is not an issue for me nor will it ever be.

@thefourfoldroot1 This is what I do as well. The storage on the PS5 has never given me any issues.

I currently don't even have any extra storage on my PS5, I just install the games I'm playing and have more than enough space available. I certainly wouldn't spend anywhere near this much to add more

Me neither. It’s easy to just delete games once finished. I am lucky that I’m pretty much the only one playing my PS5 though. Families who share amongst multiple people could potentially need a small addition if they all have different tastes in games and the kids want to keep multiple COD sized live service games on there for example.

@Ken_Kaniff I have a 8TB external for the PS4 games and I couldn't imagine having a smaller one, is great having all my games installed at the same time and switching when I please.

I think a 4TB for the PS5 is the perfect size although that price tag sure isn't 🙂

To be fair I've been getting into a lot of games lately that you can't really beat which I return to every once in a while. Stuff like Snowrunner, Farming Sim, Civilization 6, Sims 4... potentially endless games like that. It's still not enough space wasted that I need more storage but if I keep adding more games to the rotation I can see how it would be a chore to uninstall an d then install again later.

Could be worse. It could be half the size and same price like those proprietary Xbox storage cards

I want LOTR: Gollum to be installed 99 times on my console so I will wait for a larger storage

But hey, this is an investment in the future. Several years down the road, surely you will want to have a couple other games installed besides the latest CoD.

That's too much storage, at least for me. Besides, I don't think most people will finish all those installed 4TB of games, it just make them hoard/install the games rather than finishing it.

I upgraded with a 1TB Seagate Firecuda last year during a Black Friday sale. Given the way the industry is these days and so few games capturing my attention, I think I'm good for the rest of the generation.

WD and Seagate have the highest failure rates for external HDD and SSD. I have used them before and they don't last long at all. Save your money for other more durable brands.

I can survive with a 4TB drive for PS4 games and just an extra 1 TB internal SSD.
4TB seems overkill and unless you are a family of 10 all using the PS5 its unlikely you would use it all!

Becomes an issue when you try to play everything at once and can’t remember the controls for anything.

I do actually. Let me say this segate firecuda 530 4TB is one, if not the fastest and costs under 400€, when compared with the $550 pricetag, probably without taxes, then they must have a hell of a ssd.

Bought the 2TB 850X for €169 so im set for a while.

@Ken_Kaniff There’s five different profiles on my PS5 (mine, wife’s and 3 kids) and we’ve got just under 7TB worth of games (3TB internal and 4TB external) so I’ll probably upgrade to 4TB internal sooner rather than later.

I have the SN850 2TB that bought for about $280 US a year ago. Don’t think there is any need for me to upgrade.

Especially since I have over 1TB still free, and mainly use it for storage (I almost exclusively play games directly from the stock internal, transferring as necessary).

And just wondering, how fast does expansion SSD need to be? The PS5 GPU / CPU / etc. does have its limits.

the margin is insane.
