You won’t have to wait long to try out Mortal Kombat 1 – in fact, the game’s pre-order beta is just weeks away. NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that the game’s promotional test will get underway from 18th August through 21st August, and you’ll just need to have a valid PS5 pre-order to participate.
It’s also announced the playable characters you can expect to put through their paces: Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Kenshi, Kitana, Johnny Cage, and Li Mei. Meanwhile, selectable Kameos will include: Kano, Sonya, Jax, and Frost. And the available stages will include The Teahouse and Johnny Cage’s Mansion. You can find a list of All Confirmed Characters through the link.
Anyone who pre-orders the game at participating retailers will be eligible for a download code to try out this beta, so you shouldn’t have to jump through too many hoops to take part. Nevertheless, if you want beta access explained and how to participate, you can learn much more through the link. Will you be testing this out?

Time to preorder, get the code and immediately cancel.
To get the code to try the game. It's a fairly common practice. Amazon is usually a good site to do this with. Are you saying you're not aware of people doing this kind of thing?
I don't preorder as all too often games are not released in a fit condition to justify £70 at launch.
@KaijuKaiser
I wrote one sentence that first started by establishing the preorder. After the word 'preorder' is a comma. A comma is used as a pause and to separate various items and points. In this case it was to give pause as I went on to state that what follows a preorder is reception of a code. It didn't end there. The same sentence continued with a declaration that calls back to the aforementioned preoder. We know this because it is universally understood that a preorder can be cancelled, there was no mention within the sentence structure of the game itself and, crucially, the sentence itself was still in process.
Unfortunately it seems you took my comment and presented out of context and even capitalised the wrong word as you edited the content and omitted information.
Now, having said that, if someone is of the mind to read into that sentence what they want to believe I can appreciate that is the operation of their mind and I have no influence in that and neither would I be so arrogant to tell you that I know what you are thinking and why you wrote what you wrote according to what i say was going through your mind, especially after the rationale has been clarified.
You are right though, it would he weird to say anyone would buy a game and then 'cancel' it. Doesn't make sense. And it was you who had that thought 😁😆
Hope that helps.

Can I get the code, sell it for a tenner and then cancel or will that void the warranty? Also if I cancel the presell after selling the beta key will I then need to wait till it goes on sale to repurchase or can I get it days after release? Finally is there a good way you guys know of to sell unused beta keys after the beta is over and the order has been canceled? Also is there somewhere I can go to buy used beta keys that have been canceled...asking for a friend (my cat, she likes to chew them)
@KaijuKaiser I said in the explanation to you WHY I don't preorder and that's why I cancel. Can you not understand that? It matters not to me the state of a beta, it doesn't reflect the finished game. I will try the game to see what it's like purely because I can and if I like it I will wait until well AFTER its launched in case it has issues. Seriously, are you not able to understand that?
And if you find that weird, so what. I find it weird that you have to tell me what you find weird.
@KaijuKaiser
Shes a digital cat...duh
They left Scorpion out? Did I read that right?
@Melee_Ace Didn't see his name either. Pass. Will wait for full game.
Well I can finish 11 first and when im I can get a game with a decent amount of characters.

This is the first time I've heard of a game keeping a beta behind a pre-order. Usually, the beta or demo allows a person to play to determine if they want to buy the game. This seems like a ploy to get more sales during release.
