One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 launched over three years ago on the PS4, back in 2020 – but publisher Bandai Namco, alongside developer Omega Force, has teased that new DLC is on the way. This is obviously unusual because typically a game’s post-release support has concluded by now, unless it’s a live service like Fortnite or Genshin Impact.
The exact nature of the content hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it’ll include brand new characters. More information will be announced during One Piece Day on 22nd July, and you can watch the broadcast live on YouTube if you’d like to. In the meantime, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is actually discounted in the latest PS Store sale, so there’s never been a better time to pick it up.

"You're going to Luffy it"
I'm used to the puns from NL and this site, but bruh... how do you guys pronounce Luffy's name, again?🤔
A certain new-ish Luffy form, I presume?
From the looks of it, probably gonna be based on the new season.
Glad to see it. I still play this game quite a bit so new characters are definitely welcome. Especially if one of them is Yamato.
I wish they'd put in English VA. I really can't play the anime games with the horrid japanese VA.
Just in time for August 6th in the anime.
Probably gonna be some characters from the Akazaya Nine as well.
One of the characters is Yamato, 100%.
I mean the DLC would be great if they actually added stages with the characters, as in the Treasure Log levels. Just adding characters to play with in the Treasure Log after you've beaten it doesn't really make you want to play the game again just for that.
Hopefully they add some stuff with the new characters after all these years, since a new game is years away.

This has become more and more common with Bandai Namco published games as of late, at least when it comes to anime licensed games. Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse and Kakarot are still going strong, and FighterZ and My Hero Academia One’s Justice 2 both got post release support well over a year after release. I actually wish more publishers would take notice to this. Rather than releasing sequels with incremental changes just keep those changes on one game and continue with long term dlc plans.
