While Sony's presence at the event will be limited to the Indie Game Area, Tokyo Game Show 2023 will be the event's largest yet, utilising the entirety of the mammoth Makuhari Messe venue in which it takes place for the first time in four years.
Last year saw the event return to an in-person occasion, but ongoing coronavirus concerns meant that only part of the venue was actually employed. Bandai Namco, Capcom, Koei Tecmo, Konami, Xbox, Atlus, Square Enix, and others have committed to the show, which runs from 21st-24th September.
In addition to easing age restrictions (meaning children under 12 will be allowed to attend), international visitors can once again make the pilgrimage following the lifting of Japan's border restrictions in late 2022. The weekend on which the event takes place is bookended by both a Business and a Public Day in Japan, as well, which will likely only add to the festival atmosphere.
Is there anything, in particular, you're hoping to see from Tokyo Game Show 2023? Are you lucky enough to be attending yourself this year? Let us know in the comments section below.

@Grimwood We had a pandemic (new disease, burning through the population) that’s over, the coronavirus is now endemic (still around and killing people, but not disruptive anymore).
The situation has changed there now 4 endemic coronaviruses in the world rather than 3. Ultimately it doesn’t have any significant impact on our lives anymore. Even if the virus itself hasn’t changed.
FF: Tactics remake incoming! FF9 remake? One can just hope
This is the second event i’m gunna miss by a couple days when I go to Japan 😭😭
Good for attendees and such. But as someone who's only interested in announcements, I expect it to be as 'small' as ever in that regard.
Stellar Blade please.
@Snake_V5 My thoughts exactly. Since it was strangely missing from PlayStation's own showcase, I would hope it would make an appearance here since they will be at the Indie Game Area. Maybe finally a release date too (just not so late that it ends up coming out right before FF7 Rebirth).
I'll be attending this time again
Super keen to hit it up again!
Nothing in particular. But, looking forward to being surprised.
