While Sony's presence at the event will be limited to the Indie Game Area, Tokyo Game Show 2023 will be the event's largest yet, utilising the entirety of the mammoth Makuhari Messe venue in which it takes place for the first time in four years.
Last year saw the event return to an in-person occasion, but ongoing coronavirus concerns meant that only part of the venue was actually employed. Bandai Namco, Capcom, Koei Tecmo, Konami, Xbox, Atlus, Square Enix, and others have committed to the show, which runs from 21st-24th September.
In addition to easing age restrictions (meaning children under 12 will be allowed to attend), international visitors can once again make the pilgrimage following the lifting of Japan's border restrictions in late 2022. The weekend on which the event takes place is bookended by both a Business and a Public Day in Japan, as well, which will likely only add to the festival atmosphere.
